Just thinking out loud after a couple of preseason games.. Where do you see the Rams investing in next year's draft?

I think OL, DL/Edge and RB will be the biggest areas to address in next year's draft.

The Rams could have a 2 3rd rounders and a 2nd.. depending on whether they make a trade for a pass rusher at the deadline.

If they keep that 2nd.. I see it being an edge or DL.. and one of the two 3rd rounders will be an OL.
I know they like to have a lot of picks.. and they have a bunch in the 5th, 6th and 7th rounds.. lots of swings to be had. I see more OL picks, RB(s) and DLs.

I can't see any reason why they would pick a WR.. I expect Kyren Williams to be the K/P returner next year... they probably will draft a DB or two because of potential contract losses, though I do wonder how many they'll lose. I think they'll end up keeping either Rapp or Scott.. and I'm hoping it's Scott. And we'll see if Troy Hill is kept around.

On OL.. best case scenario next year could be Bruss growing up a TON and being a starter.. Anchrum taking a big leap this year and being a starter.. and Jackson growing enough to be the RT.
That'll create a huge need for quality young depth. We'll see.

Then there's always the backup QB question.. will there be a chance to bring in a guy who could actually develop into a starter?

Always fun to just look a head a little on this.

Yeah about time to reinvest in that OL, RB, and backup QB.

And honestly I want us to trade up and pick a difference maker at RB, I’ll give up a 3rd, 4th, and/or 5th rounder to land a guy that will be the fuel that makes McVays offense go.

I hear you on the RB... but I see it going more like drafting two of them.. maybe one in the 5th another in the 7th.

Yeah, they need a few guys in that DL that have a higher athletic ceiling. They just have a bunch of pluggers in reserve. If Donald goes down they will have zero pass rush...maybe a little with Gaines, but he would be doubled.

They hit the secondary hard this yr, got to hit the front 7 next yr and maybe an OL in there.

I think RB is okay unless Williams is injury prone. They will have Akers, Williams, Funk and you can find guys late to push Funk and find a legit 3rd guy. Even Ragas has a shot to be a productive big back.

I like this plan, would love to draft Kentucky QB Will Levis, but I feel he'll be gone before Rams pick in the 2nd round, if they still have the pick.

RB, and receiver of course.

Kidding aside I think Henderson is a free agent along with Rapp and Edwards. Maybe guard, safety and RB.

2nd and 3rd rounds should focus on DL, LB and OL.
Get a RB & QB in the 4-5th rounds.
Rest of picks back to DL, LB and OL…with a big, blocking developmental TE thrown in the mix.
No DBs and WRs.

No 4th rounders though...part of the Michel trade last yr. Also traded our 5th, but get three comp 5's, but they are in the 170's.

Really hope Morris gets a HC job. That will give us a pick around 100 or so.

They should honestly start looking for the qb of the future unless mcsnead is just gonna snag another veteran. I don't see Stafford lasting another 3 years with that elbow.

He's my favorite qb in the draft. The kid from Miami can ball too.

Next year the Rams will have the opportunity to use that 2024 first round pick to move up in the draft. Hopefully for an edge.

Selfishly I want a top Gurley type of RB and for Levi’s to have a bad pro day and we draft him round 3 :laugh2: Hopefully the league QB’s itself out the first 2 rounds next year and we get one later that falls.

They also have a shit ton of picks on day 2...not a ton of premium picks, but maybe you can package some to move up in round 2 and round 3 to target guys they really like.

From what I could find on GBN and projected comp picks on OTC... and also adding the Woods 6th rounder that GBN missed, they will have these picks.

They will have ammo at rhe trade deadline and or next yr to move up in some rounds.

2
3
3 Morris comp??
5 comp
5 comp
5 comp
6
6 Tenn - Woods
6 GB - the punter
7
7 Det - Brockers
7 comp

I thought we traded the 7th, but GBN doesn't list it as traded.
