How does two loss, one to us, Tampon Bay end up ranked higher than us? Them coming off loss, us blow out win…in spite of dropping 3 spots but stay above in spite of the fact they lost and we blew out our victims….playing reserves the 4th quarter…..and still dropped a spot.

and don’t get me started about the sucking cowboy dick…..

zues is a fucking moron….full stop

Not specifically you, so I hope this doesn't come off as a shot, but I will never understand fans fascination with power rankings. They mean nothing other than fan service and confirmation bias. Just beat Tennessee. The NFL has a system to figure all this stuff out.

Any fan can complain about this. Just guys doing what they're paid to do. Get clicks. Get Ad revenue.

How about the Cards, leading our division, blowing us out head-to-head, and being ranked 4 spots behind us in USA Today poll? Meh.

To be fair we only beat 1 team with a winning record.
That's a fair point. Bears 3-5, Colts 3-5, Hawks 3-5, Giants 2-6, Lions 0-8, Texans 1-7. Ouch! Some are better than their records but wow!!!

There's plenty time to beat better teams but I feel good about how the team is improving their consistency (ST aside). NOBODY wants to face our pass rush nor our passing attack.

On one rare instance that I watched GMF they all asked who was number 1 this week. They got at least three different answers.

It’s just an opinion. I prefer real stats

Yea I just saw them on NFL access not to mention rams barely get a mention.

Also I see the cowboys are definitely much improved with an offense second to none but who have they beaten? And what division are they in again? It's ok to move them up but come on get serious not yet and probably never.

NFL Week 9 Power Rankings: Another change at the top as Packers take their turn at No. 1

Pete Prisco is wondering if any team is really that good after Bengals and Bucs lose to backup QBs

We are at the point of the season, past Halloween into November, when it's time to ask the question that I love to ask at this time of the year.

Is any NFL team really that good?
Just this past week, we saw the undefeated Arizona Cardinals lose at home to an undermanned Green Bay Packers team. We had the Cincinnati Bengals, who were the top seed in the AFC entering the weekend, losing to the New York Jets and a backup quarterback in Mike White, who lit them up for over 400 yards passing.

There was also the Tampa Bay Buccaneers losing on the road to a good New Orleans Saints team, but a team that won on Sunday with essentially their third-team quarterback in Trevor Siemian.

The Tennessee Titans took over the top seed in the AFC by beating the Indianapolis Colts on the road Sunday, but now they are likely without running back Derrick Henry for the rest of the season because of a foot injury.
Again, I ask the question: Is anybody any good?

That's what November and December are all about. The contenders will emerge and the pretenders will fall off, either by bad play or bad luck.

The Packers are now in the top spot of my Power Rankings, thanks to the road victory over the Cardinals last Thursday. They did so with a running game and good defense, not exactly what we've come to expect from the Packers in recent years.

Green Bay plays at Kansas City, who won on Monday night against the Giants and looked better on defense in doing so, on the road this week in a game that matches Patrick Mahomes against Aaron Rodgers, although neither is putting up the gaudy numbers of past seasons.
Even so, it's a game that could mean a change at the top if the Chiefs were to win. That might be a theme of the season the rest of the way. The teams that do take over the top spot might not be there for long for a reason:

Right now, nobody is really that good.
BIGGEST MOVERS
6 SAINTS
5 CHARGERS

PACKERS
They went to Arizona and beat an undefeated team without Davante Adams and others. That's the sign of a good team. The defense is getting better by the week. 17-1-0
2team logo
RAMS
They dominated the Texans, which we expected, but face a tough AFC South team Sunday night in the Titans. The offense is really cooking right now and adding Von Miller to the defense is a good thing. 17-1-0
3team logo
BILLS
They didn't look great against the Dolphins, but found a way to rally in the second half. The offense looked lethargic at times, which can't happen against good teams. 35-2-0
4team logo
CARDINALS
The health of Kyler Murray bears watching after he got banged up last week. The run defense has to be better going forward. 37-1-0
5team logo
TITANS
They basically locked up the division halfway through the season by beating the Colts, which is a good thing since Derrick Henry is likely gone for the year. Now comes a real proving game against the Rams. 36-2-0
6team logo
SAINTS
Winning the way they did against Tampa Bay is a testament to Asshole Face's coaching. Give defensive coordinator Dennis Allen his due as well. Both will need to be better without Jameis Winston. 65-2-0
7team logo
BUCCANEERS
The defense just isn't good enough right now. When they let Trevor Siemian beat them, there are issues. 36-2-0
8team logo
COWBOYS
Winning on the road with a backup quarterback against a good team is why they are a real Super Bowl threat. The defense is getting better by the week. 36-1-0
9team logo
RAVENS
They come off their bye with a tough home game against the Vikings. The offense was just OK the two games before the bye, so they need to get it going.--5-2-0
10team logo
RAIDERS
At 5-2, they lead the AFC West as they come off their bye. Now they face a long road trip to play the Giants. 15-2-0
11team logo
BENGALS
They just can't handle prosperity. After blowing out the Ravens, how can they lose to the Jets? The defense wasn't good. 45-3-0
12team logo
CHIEFS
Once again, the offense looked clunky in beating the Giants. That has to change. Patrick Mahomes doesn't look like himself. 54-4-0
13team logo
STEELERS
They have turned things around in a big way. The defense, as expected, is leading the way. But the offense is getting better. 24-3-0
14team logo
PATRIOTS
Winning on the road against the Chargers is an impressive victory. The defense came up big as Bill Belichick showed off his coaching acumen again. 44-4-0
15team logo
CHARGERS
Losing two in a row is not a good look for this team. Justin Herbert has to pick up his play, but the offensive design isn't helping him. 54-3-0
16team logo
VIKINGS
The offense wasn't good against the Cowboys. They just seemed too predictable. That has to change. 23-4-0
17team logo
BROWNS
At 4-4, this team is in last place in the division. That's hard to believe considering the expectations before the season. 44-4-0
18team logo
COLTS
By losing to the Titans, they essentially are playing for a wild-card. The division looks to be lost. Leading 14-0, they should win that game. 23-5-0
19team logo
PANTHERS
The defense came up big against the Falcons, which they might need to do again with the possibility they won't have Sam Darnold this week because of a concussion. P.J. Walker will face a challenge against the Pats if he starts. 24-4-0
20team logo
49ERS
Jimmy Garoppolo played well against the Bears, showing that he should be the guy at quarterback. They looked like the 49ers we expected to see in that game as they ready for a big division game against the Cardinals.--3-4-0
21team logo
SEAHAWKS
That was a season-saving victory over the Jaguars. Now they get a bye and might get Russell Wilson back after that. 23-5-0
22team logo
BRONCOS
The defense played well against Washington, but the offense continues to flounder. They have to throw it better. 24-4-0
23team logo
FALCONS
With Calvin Ridley stepping away, their offense is limited. That puts more pressure on Matt Ryan and Kyle Pitts. They do get to face a backup quarterback with the Saints this week. 43-4-0
24team logo
EAGLES
They looked like a good team against the Lions. But it's hardly looked like that for much this season. The defense was dominant. The Chargers will be a challenge this week. 23-5-0
25team logo
BEARS
Justin Fields is getting better - at least running it. That's progress behind a bad line. He faces a tough Steelers team this week. 33-5-0
26team logo
GIANTS
The defense played a heck of a game against the Chiefs, but it wasn't enough. They didn't do enough on offense against a bad Chiefs defense. 12-6-0
27team logo
FOOTBALL TEAM
The defense finally shows up some and the offense does nothing against Denver. They have to solve the quarterback position going forward.--2-6-0
28team logo
JETS
Mike White was outstanding in beating the Bengals. That's a good thing, but what's it say about the way Zach Wilson was playing? 42-5-0
29team logo
JAGUARS
Coming off the bye, they were back to playing a sloppy brand of football. That's on the coaches. Urban Meyer has to be better. 11-6-0
30team logo
DOLPHINS
This season is done. They can talk all they want about Deshaun Watson, but it wouldn't matter anyway. They are one of the biggest flops of the season. 11-7-0
31team logo
TEXANS
When do they put Tyrod Taylor back in the lineup? It probably doesn't matter who plays quarterback, but they have a winnable game against the Dolphins this week. 11-7-0
32team logo
LIONS
So much for the idea that they were competing each week. It was awful against the Eagles. The talent just isn't there. 10-8-0

Yeah I could see them going 16-1 and getting bounced out of the playoffs in the first round.

Only 5 other teams in the NFC have a winning record, look at who the others have played. TB only beat team with a winning record, but have lost to two.

The Seahawks had Russel Wilson when we played them.

Things change week to week in the NFL. Perfect examples are Derrick Henry out for the season, Rams trading for Von Miller, Kyler Murray banged-up ankle. Some things never change such as I hate the Aaron Rodgers, Whiners and Hags.

Rankings make for interesting discussions yet have not effect on any game outcomes. The Rams getting Von Miller makes me feel better about their chances to make a championship run. It's important that they stay hungry and healthy. It's still a long way to the playoffs.

I think Buffalo is alone in their own class in the AFC. They might shit the bed but they are clearly the best team to my eye at least. Then you got the rest of the dipshits.

NFC is a whole different animal. You could argue a bunch of teams in different order and have a good chance of being right. Looks 5 deep and just fuckin nasty so I don't really care where they have us even though I do think we have one of the best chances to grow into that team who can't be stopped.

For a while now, I thought this Dan Hanzus guy at NFL.com was kind of Goofy.

I think this week proves it.

Houston is one of the weakest teams in the NFL right now but consider how the Rams dominated.

38-0 after three quarters, with an offense that had over 450 yards; and a defense that had held the opponent to less than 80 yards before most of the starters sat-down. Can't do much better.

Dan Hanzus thinks that warranted a drop from fifth-to-sixth!

I am going to guess that Dan Hanzus did not watch the game or read more than just the score and stats, incorrectly concluding that it was a somewhat competitive game.

Long believed that National Media Coverage (the "Experts") do not follow individual teams as closely as the die-hard fans of their teams. If guys like us are honest and objective, we know our team better than these "Experts". That's not because we are more smart ... just because we are paying more attention.

No offense taken fosho Ram brethren

only reason it means anything more than a popcorn fart to me is this corksoaker has a spot on a national network making mad skrilla dissing a team I’ve lived and died over since 1967.

he can die in a fire for all the fucks I give about his “opinion “

If you're a good team, that's what you should do to weak teams. So we're not Alabama who can put the 2's in and dominate Alabama St.? No shit? It's the NFL!!! There are no Alabama States.....though the Lions are close!
