.

Can't blame him for getting his money. The raiders screwed him out of his big payday so he had to take the bigger offer.

Last contract don't blame him at all for getting that final payday. And I think they'll be better than 6 wins if their QB is worth a damn.

Yeah, they got some line issues in Tennessee.

Titans coach Mike Vrabel wanted to see quarterback Marcus Mariota complete a pass on Sunday night. But Vrabel pulled Mariota from the game after just three attempts, none of which were complete.

The reason, Vrabel said after the game, was that the Titans’ offensive line wasn’t protecting Mariota, and the team didn’t want to risk an injury to its franchise quarterback.

“We want to make sure that we can protect our quarterback — that’s important,” Vrabel said. “It’s imperative that we do that as a staff and we do that as an offensive group. … I wanted to see how the game was going, and at that point in time I thought it was in the team’s best interest and in everybody’s best interest that we get him out of the game at that point in time.”

Mariota’s 0-for-3 stat line, not to mention getting sacked for a safety, doesn’t inspire a lot of confidence. With Mariota’s preseason now over, the Titans need to get their offense on the same page before Week One against the Browns.

We couldn’t afford to give him a contract that was anywhere close to what he was worth. Can’t blame the guy to leaving. I’m not sure we even tried to sign him since we had the younger, cheaper talent waiting already:

I wish him well. We got the discount price on him last time because the Raiders had buyers remorse and had their doctor get them out of the deal. At least he got to play in a Super Bowl...

I don't remember it a discount. I remember the Raiders getting criticized for overpaying for him. And considering how often he got hut I thought the Rams went out on a limb abit.

Mariota and Winston going in the first two picks of the draft is going to prove out to be a memorable fail.
I watched UofO and OSU here every week. I thought Mariota had made a lot of improvements his senior year but still thought his game wouldn't translate. Of course I thought Joey Harrington would be a stud.... In my defense, he went to the Lions. Good luck with THAT.

I remember the Rams gave him an exit physical, which was A-OK. Raiders failed him on the physical, and then the Rams re-examined him and again rated him A-OK before he was re-signed. Saffold took the original offer from the Rams which he rejected for Oakland's deal. The Rams knew much more intimately than any other team what Saffold went through surgery-wise and his recovery, and so I don't see it as a risk at all.
