IMO, we should have had two more TDs rather than FGs. Really irritating to see we can't punch it in from 1 yard out. Not once... but twice.
I know it doesn't show on the scoreboard, but I'm pretty sure TG got one of those in the endzone and the refs blew it.

I have to go as Player of Game with:

Winner; Jeff Triplette Can't believe he finally called a good game against the Rams.

Runner Up; Rams Color Rush Uniforms. Best uni ever! Makes Rams look fast as hell!

As rough as I have been on both of them Brown and Havenstein had good games.
Brown with good redirect in the run game and got some movement too. Both solid pass blocking.
Barron with a great tackle that saved the game on SF last possession. There was no one else there if he missed that tackle. The D was bad all game, but, that play was great.

I'd give it to the whole offense.

But if I had to choose it would be TG3. I didn't notice it that much until the post-game interview but he played almost every snap and had 33 touches (28 carries, 5 catches). He turned that until 149 yards and 3 (almost 4) touchdowns. That is the modern NFL Prototype workhorse back.

Goff really did a 180 on eye placement. He did not telegraph where the ball was going.

Play of the game for me was the TD to Sammy over the middle. Rewatch that play if you can. Notice Goff pulls the LB in the middle by looking to the right where Gurley is and the very very quickly comes back over the middle to Sammy in a split second. Giving Sammy time to catch and run. His eye usage and quick pump fake creates the open window for Sammy.

Btw, how did Watkins catch that over the shoulder sideline again? That should be left inevitably unanswered or something like that. Could I have repeated should then shoulder and that, anymore. My bad.

Because Sammy sees the ball as it truly is: on a FLAT trajectory. See, most guys see this big round arc to the ball that is actually not there, making it harder to catch...

I loved a couple subtle things that came together at the end:
  • <----- After a gutsy performance from this guy in my avatar, he was able to go over the 100yd mark (113 yds) with that last clutch breakaway run.
  • Jared got the honor of the victory kneel down to end the game. Fitting after all the "bust" abuse he has taken.
:rant:suck it, Meshawn!!! Suck it Shannon Sharpe!!!

Sammy Watkins, his Willie Mays catch and 2nd TD were game changing!

so much this. the long ball to watkins was spectacular. that plus a couple of long throws to woods that were pin point accurate showed the nfl world goff had arrived. more specifically, the rams offense had arrived. now we will really see the gurley we all thought we drafted. he was giddy talking to the nfl channel crew. giddy as fuck because he knows he's gonna tear this league a new one with goff and the receivers rolling like this.

OLine was great tonight! Hats off to them. Even the right side. Although we still struggle on the run to the right, great pass pro. And we'll just keep running left. no problem lolll.

have to say Goff. the pass to Watkins was silly good. (and a great catch by watkins. the quick slant TD was nice. the roll out to woods was good to see some mobility. who was the last Ram qb that could roll out and hit a receiver? i fully believe that having a true #1 receiver in Watkins is really coming to light here. and the comment about a really well designed play i think to woods where the play went right and 4 receivers ended up on the left side. now that i've seen the talent come out, maybe Goff will make teams pay less attention to Gurley.

I love seeing these 2nd, 3rd effort TD's as well. 2- 40 pt games in one season ?? been awhile, thats for sure.

I in no way shape or form thought Goff would be playing this well through three games. I hoped for improvement but I didn't think that it would look anything like this. I'm gobsmacked.

I think GZ deserves a game ball too. Has been money all year, without him being perfect we lose.

It's funny that I saw Keyshawn on Sportscenter after the game, and he's changing his mind on Goff and he told Ram's fans "there is a reason to lift your faces now.."

Hey Meshawn, this come from the heart...just fukk off and die.

Well - from what I've seen this morning - our O rocked!!! Our line was solid, TGIII was back to his best, our WRs, what can I say F**K ME! what a 180 from last year!

BUT the Player of the Game has to go to a guy that I haven't been convinced with since the day we did that draft trade. Jared Goff - If the kid keeps improving like he is this season we are in for a dream season, those passes were amazing, he used his legs to get out of trouble when needed.

Jared Goff I salute you!
