Hard to argue with this choice.

The Rams have had more than their share of high-prices misses in free agency over the years, including the misguided belief that Jamie Duncan was a suitable replacement for London Fletcher. But they didn't publicly sell any of their pickups harder than Bennett. With franchise legends Isaac Bruce and Torry Holt near the end of their time in St. Louis, the Rams pegged Bennett as the next in line at the position. In 2007, they gave Bennett a six-year, $30 million deal with $10 million in guarantees. In exchange, the Rams got 34 catches for 379 yards and three touchdowns in only 15 games over two seasons. So, the most logical thing to do would be to get a QB instead.

There was a reason for this nobody wanted to sign with the Rams, they tried several different players who signed with other teams because they knew Linehan was a putz and Jay Zygmunt was to General Managers as Bill Peterson was to NFL Head Coaches.

Rams overpaid because they wanted a WR and Bennett took the money because every other team understood he was like an appendix...Apparently useless! Linehan & Ziggy deserved each other and all of their decisions was the beginning of the end of the St. Louis Rams.

Bennett was a potentially good player. As it turned out he has an injury that never got better.

I would like to have a board policy about mentioning JDuncan. Anone posting anything that mentions him should be dickpunched like this, but in the dick not the chest.
