Except every year we say that there's no money for re-signing but somehow they find some.
Except that was before they signed all these huge deals and Stanford’s contract ends next year.
I believe like many seasons, we'll see some mid season extensions being made, and it won't affect the 2021 CAP negatively. jmo.

Lol I doubt we’ll be extended the likes of Brian Allen. At least I hope not!

Been said he has the long arms, but size is the issue. He is versatile & said when drafted he could be used as a guard/center.He found himself playing RT during the season.Center is the issue up front.Mcshay said Allen,Coleman & a couple others might compete? Corbett & Anchrum?

Anchrum doesn't have really long arms. 33 5/8". It's part of his relative lack of height/length which is why he will likely be a guard or center and not a tackle.

They're long arms for a 6'1" offensive lineman.

Probably not unless he somehow wins the starting job in a slam dunk. It's early though and these decisions likely won't be made until Sept/Oct/Nov. jmo.

Well you’re right but how Allen played before I don’t see him dramatically changing to warrant starting much less getting an extension. Noteboom I could see however.

Yeah, Allen's really going to have to impress, but i'm giving him the benefit of the doubt for beating Shelton as our top reserve. I still think Corbett's going to be the man starting and he'll be right up there for an early extension. jmo.

Or they like what they have in house/don’t like what’s available. I literally have no idea (just like you don’t). That’s your opinion and that’s fine but to state that only rams on demand thinks there were o line problems and no one else in the world is unequivocally false.
I have seen zero.. zero talking heads speaking about how we need to shore up the 0-line. The only place i see that narrative is this message board. I'm not even saying I think the 0-line is great... i just dont see it brought up anywhere else.

Might I suggest Whit has has some input here and quite possibly has said several current players are close?

That's odd, even the NFL draft site page leads with the OL as a top need. I've heard several discussions by pundits speculating on Whitworth's eventual retirement. More than a few leading media mocks had offensive linemen coming to us in the earlier rounds.

One of the best draft calls ever.

Dropped call. Then, when McVay calls back, he says, "Hey Earnest, did you just hang up on my ass?!"

McVay was joking of course. Check it out on Rams website, pretty funny...

Yeah about that....I sure hope it’s somebody else

LMAO - I have a funny feeling it’s Brian Allen. I’m a Hater just because of the Draft Pick it’s self & how he was just given the job.Austin Blythe & Sullivan were just a good C/G combo.Real good Lockeroom guys. They were so in tune with Goff and the O’Line.
I think Brian Allen might be the odd man on the Offensive Line.As of the group.
—Then again could this be the starting 5 ? Either way if Noteboom is the odd man out.It still shows The Rams depth. I like the unity Whitworth brings.I could post this every day.It is the hardwork that counts in the end.

McVay mentioned a Morgan Fox comparison in evaluating this kid. I like the sound of that.
Where the two Browns fit-in has become an interesting topic on a couple threads.

Lots of posters are talking about Bobby Brown as a potential future replacement for Joseph-Day who is in the final year of his rookie contract. Maybe this is because of his size. However, I see Bobby Brown more in the role that Brockers filled.

When Brockers signed with the Ravens last year, the Rams signed A'Shawn Robinson to replace him. Then when Brockers became free again because Baltimore had health concerns, he was re-signed and took-back his job. Robinson (once he returned) seemed to mostly play behind Brockers. I see Robinson stepping-up into the starting spot, with Bobby Brown backing-him-up.

From what I saw last year, Joseph-Day was inside, backed-up by Gaines. They filled that role well last season, and I see that continuing to be their primary roles in 2021.

The other Brown (Earnest) strikes me as a potential replacement for Morgan Fox as an interior pass-rusher with good size and athleticism.

I also hope for Michael Hoecht and Jonah Williams.

I see what they are saying but IMO E Brown is a bit more heavy footed than Fox. Stronger than Fox was early on but probably not as good an athlete.

I expect he will be a decent rotation piece as a DL but don't think he will contain well if they try him as an edge rotation.

Might be wrong, maybe he is a better athlete than I am giving him cred for but either way I like his anchor. Dude is hard to move.

This board is gonna be funny as hell if Allen wins that starting center job. Might have to put Den on suicide watch.

I've given up on the OL. Uncle already Rams you win F. Full of hope too as always with fingers crossed.
They tried Noteboom at guards two consecutive seasons despite having a better guard on the team who was proven to play guard better than Joe. So handing the Center job back to Allen could be par for the course.

One possibility why they Rams didn't take a tackle could be that they think Edwards could move there if Whit retired. Then Anchrum or Brewer could move to LG.
