The only way to really deal with Strength of Schedule is to use each team's record AT THE TIME of the game.

I mean if a team is 0-4 and playing lousy, that's different from a 5-6 team that's won 5 of its last six games.

First game doesn't factor, of course, so week 2 only factors in the week 1 schedule for the opposing team. AT NO POINT should any subsequent wins or losses factor in. If that team reels off 14 straight after losing two in a row, that has nothing to do with those first two games. In week three, you have the week 1 record for the second opponent and the weeks 1 and 2 record for the third opponent. And so on. Only in the last week of the season will the last opponent be judged on the 15 prior games.

That's the only fair way to do it. It takes into account beating tough teams that fall off due to injury and it doesn't give a false impression for a better win because a team got things figured out or got healthy later after a team has played them.

Hopefully, I'm being clear because the detailed explanation, while easier to understand, just takes a lot of words to be explicitly clear.
