okay folks,

trying to set up a draft sportsbook for the 57th pick and I am stumped on the odds to set on the Rams trading up or down

I am thinking along the lines of 25/1 they trade the pick. Does this sound reasonable to you draft pros?

This is quality entertainment not knowing what the Rams draft board looks like. I foresee at least four players falling. Dickerson, Jamin, Cosmi, and Bolton.

Dickerson with the injuries, Jamin lack of experience, Cosmi unsure of heart & technique at next level and Bolton at size/position. If all four are available, I imagine the Rams trade back. Honestly I think they jump on a CB like Aaron Robinson who can man the slot and dish out the pain.

It all depends on what kind offer they get. Remember, it takes two to tango. You can't just trade back because you feel like it.

As much as that could be legit... it could just as easily be the Rams way of putting suspicion out there to up-value a desire to trade down.
Oh absolutely, it's the heart of GM/Coach speak season. But we also know that these two empower their coordinators to push for a guy they like.

Agree though that if he can trade back to the top of round 3 and get a pick at the top of round 4, he moves the pick. Gets you another pick in that top 110 or so and reality is there is not a big diff in the player your taking in the 55-60 range vs the guy you can get at pick 100.... especially if you have great faith in your scouting dept.
So hypothetically if there are 2 OL, 2 CB and an Edge they consider great value at R2.57 why not trade down 10 spaces to R3, still get a player from that group and add a high 4th for later in the draft.

I find it hard to believe that the Rams WON'T find a player they are very passionate about at No. 57. I further doubt that they consider different players to be of "equal" value, or interchangeable, though fans might.

It's about getting EXACTLY the right guy. Like Akers.

Rams' goal will be an impact player and they will likely find one at 57.
Hypothetically...what if 3 players were tagged at the exact same value by the Rams. Why wouldn’t they consider trading down 3 spots to pick up one of those but also get an extra pick for their trade?

I guess it will depend if any of the key difference making players they are targeting make it into the 50s. If so, we could conceivably trade up.

If not, I tend to agree with others who say we will trade down for an extra pick. If so, perhaps we trade up into the top half of round 3 where there will be solid prospects - who could potentially start - at positions of need

Giving us two high ranking prospects similar to last years draft
