Already we have to hear how someone wants him now. And of all teams the Chiefs really need him lol?
We should prioritize keeping him even if it means moving on from Woods as he is younger and will only get better in this offense.

ODELL BECKHAMWR, LOS ANGELES RAMS

ESPN's Jeremy Fowler said "it wouldn't shock" him if the Chiefs pursued Odell Beckham in free agency this offseason.

Fowler said Beckham returning to the "cash-strapped Rams appears difficult" since the team has committed so much money to Robert Woods and Cooper Kupp for the foreseeable future. That could leave Beckham -- after restarting his fledgling career in LA -- to seek a contender this offseason. "Most agree Beckham fits better on a contender with a strong culture," Fowler said. "Going to the Jacksonville Jaguars or Chicago Bears for the biggest check could backfire." Kansas City expressed interest in OBJ in 2021 and could woo him as a much-needed third option in their highly-concentrated passing offense.

Hopefully OBJ and the boys win a Super Bowl this season, and he can then just decide where to play based on where he apparently wants to live - L.A.

If it comes down to money, then okay maybe OBJ goes to the Midwest :sick2:.

But he wants to stay in lA. He is an LA personality. That will weigh on his decision

Yeah, I think we need to try and do all we can to keep him. And I think it's a no-brainer.

I think we can move funds around and have a lot of room in some restructures to get 'er done. I will just add that if they think Jefferson is ready, and they want to see what their shiny first pick from last draft will do, the Rams may not want to do a ton.

Hopefully, he likes LA enough, because I love the dude.

I have no doubt the rams can make a very reasonable offer so KC would pretty much have to overpay. And living in kc 8 months of the year playing at arrowhead as the number 3 target isn't even close to being a star in LA and playing at sofi.

If the rams keep Woods we would have the best receiver room in the league and obj and woods would be 2a and 2b

I have been harsh on OBJ at first, but as time has went I have began to like him. However; I still wouldn’t break the bank just to keep him. I think he uses this team as a catalyst to boost his career and moves on to get the top dollar he deserves. Just hope he stays out of the NFC West…

Opportunities off the field will likely play a huge part in his decision. If he wants more media coverage and entertainment options LA is where he’ll end up. Maybe in Chargers Powder Blue(color blind so whatever that is). Lol

I want him and Kupp together for the next two years. So I'd pay Odell his value with a 2-3 year deal and make room for him.

Then Stafford has two good matchups vs any corner duo in the league. Plus Higs and Akers in the pass game. Plus some kids to develop so that's two years of good pass game potency and just tune up that interior OL and secondary in the draft.

1. OBJ and Woods are the same age.
2. OBJ is faster 4.3 vs Woods' 4.5
3. OBJ is 5'11" and Woods is 6'
4. OBJ is more athletic
5. Woods will carry a $15.7M cap number with $12.1M dead cap
6. Woods cap will go to $15.9M with only a $6.4M dead cap in 2023
7. By contract structure the Rams looked to make Woods expendable in 2023 as his cap number jumps to $17.9M in 2023

The Rams can keep one but not both. Since it looks like Woods wasn't in the Rams projected future after 2022 they can trade him or release him if they have no takers and designate his release as a post June 1 to split the dead cap over two years. As much as I like Woods, OBJ has a higher ceiling and projects to have a longer career. Or they extend OBJ with 2022 cap friendly as its all about the guaranteed money and release or trade Woods after the 2022 season.

But IMO they probably could get a mid-round pick from Detroit as he would be better than any receiver they have and would serve as a bridge player for the receivers they draft this year and next.

I don’t know if OBJ improves the offense that much more than Woods, having both would be great, depending on the cost. Woods and Kupp will be excellent again but who knows what they think of Van, Skow and Tutu. I’m wondering if Von might be more valuable to keep.

We're keeping Von Miller and OBJ.

We can do it. It will take creativity, but we can do it.

But first things first... time to win the NFCCG and then the Super Bowl!!!

OBJ is the strong handed red zone target the Rams have been missing since Watkins left. Higbee provides some of that but OBJ takes it to the next level. I also see an even higher ceiling as he snd Stafford/Kupp grow together. It’s up to OBJ if he wants to go to the highest bidder or settle into a nice 3-4 year contract with a contender like the Rams and a gunslinger like Stafford. But it would have to be at a more reasonable price.

He will go to the team that pays him the most. Especially if he wins a championship this season.

I dunno, but I don't think so.

The prospect of ending up in another Cleveland situation has to be a tremendous disincentive to change.

I can see if the Chiefs do go after him, but I'm hoping we can find a way to agree to sign him prior to the FA period.
