The three day event is aimed more at casual fans - which is where the money is, to be fair. Most hardcore fans seem to have preferred the two day event. If your team traded out of the first, you didn't waste a bunch of time, you could organize your weekend around it, it was 90% football (there were some fluff pieces, but not as many, and they would get back to the picks quickly). Get up, organize your food and beverage of choice, tv to ESPN (when they were the only ones carrying it) computer cranked up with all the websites preloaded in their own windows, etc etc.

But ratings are higher now, and teams don't have to work quite as long a day - really, only the final day is as long for them.

A bit early for a crown.

The Raiders had three first rounders. They likely could have moved back and still got Ferrell.
Jacobs and Abrams were good picks, but again, still in round one. This was a tough first round to screw up. His second round pick was Trayvon Mullen, who I really like. But it was an early second. Not hard to do in a deep draft. After that his draft was nothing to talk about.

If the rest of his picks pan out then I'll be more impressed, but the true test is what he does picking late or picking in a crappy draft, which we have yet to see.
Not really...
Every year including yours truly laughs at teams like the Browns and Raiders that make stupid moves in the draft and FA but how do you know they won't work out?

So now comes where they hit on a lot of draft prospects that are projected to have an amazing NFL career and it's not right to say the GM hit on them? :wow:

Mayock was more enjoyable to listen to for the vast amount of people, if you don't feel that way no biggy, everybody is entitled to their opinion. I sure wouldn't come close to watching that shit show that is ESPN and their hack sports news channel.

Love this thread.

NFLN was terrible this year and got worse each day. It was very clear that Rich Eisen hates the draft, hates covering it, has no interest in it or respect for it and thinks he is an entertainer and the star of the broadcast. He constantly took the broadcast off the rails. # firericheisen

I tried all the networks broadcasting, and then stuck with ESPN.

See, in general, I really enjoy both Rich Eisen and NFLN.

But between the bachelorette talk and going to commercial THREE times when the Rams picked on the last day... I was unusually extra cranky.

We go to the Super Bowl and still can’t get out draft covered.... what do we got to do?

I tried to watch for awhile but....

This is going to sound like I have zero empathy.

I got soooooo tires of the back stories and the blatant attempt to inject life/family/struggle into everything.

Big fuckin deal we all have had some sort of adversity in our lives. I don’t need everyone’s sad story. But it wasn’t just that, it was the effort they went through to showcase any kind of story.

They even asked one kid “ You seem emotional, why?” They player looked down at the reporter like “ WTF do you mean? I got drafted sooooooo....I’m happy”

I turned off the TV after that. Stupid fuckin question.

Obviously I’m just not into rookies.

I pretty much lose interest after Rd 4..

Also I think what needs to happen once Rd 5 begins start doing coverage of each div and teams and give updates on team picks and likes and dislikes. Try to get away from yipping about Rd 1-3 and start giving draft snap shots from each draft day. and give each team a 5 min report, and update w/ every pick.
