Bruce's catch has to be it with Proehl's catch a close 2nd and Mike Jones' tackle, third.

Why Bruce's game winning TD does not dominate the conversation is beyond me. Underthrown pass, weaving through traffic, Hakim helps with the block, 2 min to go, the dome was going crazy in Atlanta (I was there)...man, we win our only super bowl....hard for me to believe it isn't head and shoulders #1....
All true but Proehl's catch was more difficult and made Bruce's catch possible.

Bruce’s touchdown, just because it was the Super Bowl.

Maybe an argument for The Tackle.

But recency bias has me wanting to use this play...:sneaky:

I've watched the highlight video of that game a few times and it's gratifying because only about 45 seconds of the 10 or so minutes are the Seahawks offense.

And this particular video shows us the dagger play. The Seahawks were dead after that.

While kicking this around you know it eill ve obe of those 99' sras9n plays inkess rhey go for the Tom Fears 73 yarder in 51'

So for honorable mention of plays tgst I remember watching.

Ellard catches a deflected pass at the goal line to go ahead of the Niners to clinch the 1985 Division Title.

If I remember correctly Gary Green picked off a pass to set it up and Gary Jeter sacked and forced a fumble to clinch the game on the next series.

It was the Bruce TD that won us the championship and the Mike Jones tackle that preserved it. Hard to put anything above the plays that delivered this franchise's only Super Bowl.

Proehl, Bruce and Jones all have a claim.

But I go with Jones and "the tackle" because it was the last play, in the biggest game and Jones stopped him at the one yard line from tying it up and secured our first SB win. Biggest stage, biggest stop, biggest win.

Great points here with debate over the big three plays.
I have to go with bruce's TD reception.

Let's all be a little selfless here. If Bruce's TD is the Rams biggest play on the last 100 years, that probably gives him a better shot at actually making it into the Hall of Fame.

Let's do the guy a favor and push for this one. Is there somewhere to vote, somebody to email, someone to kidnap and hold hostage until our demands are met?

Then what about Torry and S-Jax? Let's get them in the Hall as well. They deserve it.

This is probably not the greatest play in Rams history, but it definitely deserves recognition. This play is arguably the pinnacle of the Greatest Show On Turf. Martz gets the match-up he wanted, Warner throws a simple out to Hakim, and suddenly Holt and Hakim are racing each other down the sideline!

.

if the d didn't shit itself on the last drive the proehl td in superbowl 36 would be the winner. coming back from 14 points down against the cheats and the refs, would have been a storied td for the ages.

Man, so many ...

- Bruce's TD in XXXIV will always be my tops ... well, until we have another SB winning play anyway
- but his 77-yard TD on the Rams first offensive play in the playoffs against the Vikings is also a big one
- Dickerson's 55 yard explosion on the first play of the 2nd half in the '85 divisional playoffs against Dallas
- The Waddy TD in the 79 playoffs (sent Roger Staubach into retirement with a loss!!)
- Isiah Robertson's 58 yard pick six in the 74 playoffs against the Redskins to give the Rams their first playoff win in a long time
- The Proehl catch, obviously
- Aeneas Williams pick to seal the deal against the Eagles in the 2001 NFCC
- Jack Youngblood's pick six against the Cardinals in the 75 playoffs
- Zuerlein crushing a 57 yarder in overtime to send Asshole Face home to binge on ice cream while watching Lifetime Channel movies while sending the Rams to the Super Bowl
- The Tackle
- Flipper's walk-off TD in the Meadowlands

Either a stroke or hand cramp was involved in this post....me thinks... or one's autocorrect was on break...

Just funnin' with ya. Although, I still have no idea what that first sentence was saying...

The Proehl catch is my favorite play of all-time. But in choosing a “signature play” to represent the best in the history of the Rams, I vote for the Bruce catch because it exemplifies the GSOT.

The Proehl catch was fantastic, but the GSOT was handcuffed that day.

All legit "greatest plays" for the Rams. I'd add Marshall Faulk's run against the Browns where on the sideline Vermeil is saying "we didn't block anybody!!!". For "those forty niner moments" when SJ broke the DBs arm who was trying to tackle him and Aeneas Williams knocking out Terrell Owens (he also ended Steve Young's career while with the Cardinals).
