I was taking a look what chances we need to land the #1 or #2 seed and it doesn’t matter what it looks like. If we tie GreenBay or New Orleans record wise we still lose out to them assuming it’s because of vs. NFC teams record.

They’d have to both lose 2 out of the next 3 games which is highly unlikely by my estimation for us to get the #1 seed.

So hopefully out of the 2 I’m pulling for the Saints to get the #1 seed. Why? Because it’s the prospect of playing in GreenBay in late January or a dome in New Orleans with no fans. I choose the dome!

And don’t give me that one game at a time bullshit, we aren’t players or coaches and I know probably 95% of you have taken a look at this already, sooooo what are you thinking?

ps I see us winning out the regular season and our wildcard and division round game, which is how I got to this estimate of either GB or NO.

What say you Ramily?

I believe if either GB or NO loses a remaining game to a NFC team and we win out, we'd take their spot (because our conference record would be superior). But my understanding of the tiebreakers could be wrong.

.

It doesn't matter if the packers finish with the 1 or 2 seed. The Rams will play them in Green Bay if they progress.

If they finish with the 2 seed the Rams will play them in the second round of the playoffs.

That's right. The tiebreaker between teams not from the same division is conference record.

Right now the Rams are a game behind GB and NO but have the same conference record at 8-2. If either or both of them lose another conference game, and the Rams tie them for overall w-l record, we get the tiebreaker.

Saints play KC, Minnesota and Carolina. They could very well lose two of those.
Never know..

Who cares? Are we not the NFL's youngest team this season? We will road grade everyone in our way, including our Super Bowl opponent. Time for Andrew to earn his SB gold ring!!!

I'm thinking the Rams win out. If they don't they're not the team we hope they are. But if they do there's a good chance one of those teams loses so I would guess we'll end up the 2 seed. The bye would be nice of course however I think the Rams are well suited to go on the road and win given their shitty schedule to them it's no big deal.

Don't know if we can get past the AFC team but I feel like we have a very good chance to rep the NFC once again.

It's unlikely that they lose to any NFC teams remaining on their schedule.

I believe even in a three way tie it would come to record against common opponents - no bueno thanks to the Niners:

Bucs, Bears, Niners, Eagles

Saints lost to the Eagles and Packers lost to the Bucs, so they're both 4-1 (assuming GB beats Chicago in week 17 - that's our best shot at passing them) while we're 3-2.

I expect the Saints to lose to the Chiefs and the Packers to lose to the Titans - but it won't matter if we all go 12-4 in that scenario bc of the common opponents.

Saints play the Vikings and at the Panthers, while the Packers play at the Bears. Definitely a lose able game in there for both so let's hope at least one happens so we can get that 2 seed.

Btw - if one of those scenarios do happen, and we win in week 17, the Cardinals would just stay in LA as that would be the playoff game the following week.

TO BREAK A TIE FOR THE WILD-CARD TEAM
If it is necessary to break ties to determine the two wild card clubs from each conference, the following steps will be taken:

  • If the tied clubs are from the same division, apply the division tiebreaker.
  • If the tied clubs are from different divisions, apply the following steps:
Two Clubs

  1. Head-to-head, if applicable
  2. Best won-lost-tied percentage in games played within the conference
  3. Best won-lost-tied percentage in common games, minimum of four
  4. Strength of victory
  5. Strength of schedule
  6. Best combined ranking among conference teams in points scored and points allowed
  7. Best combined ranking among all teams in points scored and points allowed
  8. Best net points in conference games
  9. Best net points in all games
  10. Best net touchdowns in all games
  11. Coin toss

Our 3 seed is pretty much locked, going by Saints Packers remaining games
however I could see Hawks and Bucs switching seeds.
I am not sure who I would rather us play first.
Anybody got a preference between playing the Chickens or the Brady Bunch?

The Packers are going to be tough but most everyone in the playoffs is going to be. Even the Skins look like a reasonably tough matchup at this point.

Any team that relies on a #1 WR as heavily as Green Bay I think we match up well with since Ramsey is going to own the playoffs.
