My prediction for the season

The Rams should win in Buffalo on Sunday. After they do they will IMO go undefeated into the bye week at 8-0. Coming out of the bye week their toughest games will be Seattle and New England. When I looked at this schedule before the season began I could see them going no worse than 13-3. I can see a split with Seattle and a very tough game vs the Pats. The Ram D should be able to handle the Pat's offense. But the Pat's D remains very good, perhaps the best the Rams will face all year. This is why IMO it will be a low scoring game and it could come down to Sloman winning or losing it. This why I think 14-2 is very likely.

I see the Rams winning the division and eventually facing the Packers in the NFC Championship game. That game could be a total shootout with again Sloman's kicks could be decisive one way or the other. Also, it might be outdoor in GB in bad weather which is why I really wanted Lirim. Sloman can't make kicks in good weather and indoors.....

If they survive Sloman, who IMO is the biggest wild card in the season for the Rams I see them facing either Baltimore or KC in the SB. Baltimore has the better defense so I think it will be them that makes it that far. But Mahomes and Wilson can manufacture wins so it will be interesting to see how it shakes out.

Last spring I figured six to eight wins. I'll bump that to ten or eleven. Factors to change my opinion are Corbett improved and Have stein being healthy. White or th looking healthier, with Edwards as a good compliment. As a whole the line looks better than last year, especially with the Corbett/Have pairing and Whit/Edwards pairing. If Noteboom returns to start I reserve the right to go back to eight or nine wins.

Another factor is that some teams are not looking as strong as expected. The Miners have injuries. The Patriots don't look as goid with Cam, and the Cowboys and Eagles are both having a slow start coupled with the Rams fast one. That's two losses already turned into wins for me. But the Seahawks and Cardinals both look to be very good. It remains to be seen how the rams match up with them.

It's just too early and too many factors involved for me to be as bold as posted so far. In no particular order, injures, COVID, other teams getting hot, the possibility offensive coordinators will learn and exploit the new defense, and the wins against weakened lineups so far give me pause. Can they do it? Of course....yes. Will they? No prediction here.

Buffalo will be a tough test. A big strong QB who runs well. He's looked really good his first two games. But how good? He's fortunate they start with two of the weakest teams in the league. His passing numbers before those two games were below average.

This season I predicated at a minimum 11-5 and ceiling 12-4. We got lucky with so many bad injuries on SF, but our division is rock solid and will be exciting games.

The most important thing about the first 2 games is it gave the team confidence again.

I’ll stick to Buffalo this week & think it will be a loss? Will see,but Philly then back to LA & flying Up State NY will take a toll.
