Is the center position and it seems there is never any news about it I’ve seen or come by. How is Brian Allen doing? Anybody?

I’ve read some camp reports but that’s it.

Is it like that old saying “ no news is good news” ? Lol

I brought his name up about a week ago and got no response, but I would consider bringing in 34 year old former Ram John Greco for a look-see. He played both Center & RG for the Giants last season. If he still has some juice left, let him play back-up and retire with the team that brought him up. Probably little more than vet minimum salary should do it. jmo.

My thought process maybe bring back Sully?? I’m sure we can afford it and he might not all pro but he wasn’t the a liability either. Looks like he’s a FA still.

I’ve found only vague reports on BriannAllen so far.

The fact that he hasn't played in the preseason is why there is nothing to talk about. Allen is going to be an upgrade over Sully.

Sullivan knows the playbook, that's a big advantage, but definitely was a liability in rushing situations. I don't have much faith in Demby, but I have to believe he, Hrynkiewicz & Kolone are going to see a lot of playing time at Center and OG against Houston. One of these 3 needs to step up big time now that Neary is lost, otherwise McSnead may indeed start looking outside. jmo.

I hear you. Honestly I don’t have much faith in any of them besides Allen. Hope he works out. I really like him coming out of college. Sounds like you don’t think much of him?

Guys it should be common sense that McVay/Snead/Komer have slot of faith in Allen. Why? Because Sully would not cost much to resign him and they didn't.

I really hope you are right! I feel a bit more anxiety over this season compared to the last 15! Lol

I honestly haven't seen enough of Allen to have an opinion. If Kromer & McVay says he's good to go, then I have no objection. My only concerns now are at back-up center, RG & RT.
I'm kinda hoping Evans discovers a hangnail and is placed on IR, then we can bring in both Hrynkiewicz & Brewer.

Sully was the biggest liability against the Pats and Bears.

I actually agree with this. He played pretty well and if he comes off the bench he'll be fresh which is important with vet players

If Neary is determined to be out beyond 4 weeks - I gotta believe an experienced vet will be on Snead's "Go Get'em" List. I wouldn't mind a trade for a starter that can take over if any of our interior OL struggle. There will also be some decent candidates from the 1000+ players soon to be released.

I am not so confident in any player that I haven't seen play a few full games in the regular season. So, until I see what they can do, Allen and Noteboom are slight concerns.

OL Depth is a big concern.

I agree. I don't know why we wouldn't get them some preseason work?

Greco, as I said at the time, was a good p,Ayer, never allowed to prove his self, here. I wrote detailed, in game analysis....fuck it, bring him back.
