As usual most Dodger fans were passing and moaning that we didn’t spend big money on free agents. And they have the second best record right now.

7 game lead in late May. I wonder if they're gonna cruise or if someone's gonna challenge them? One thing about hot starts is, when the inevitable losing streak comes they've got some cushion until the right the ship. Their offense is still one of the best in the league.

I don't remember how many divisions the Braves won in a row, but they eventually broke through and won a title after so many disappointments in the playoffs. Hopefully the Dodgers will finally break through. They've put themselves in position enough times.

I think with the Dodgers it will depend on health, as with everybody, and how the pitching holds up. The depth is amazing and the minors are pretty stacked. Cody Bellinger is on another planet right now and they e rotated in other guys hitting well. Lapses are always possible I just don’t see any team in the division being able to push them. The Giants are terrible and their manager is on his farewell tour. San Diego is young but talented. Arizona is mediocre. Colorado imo has the second best player in baseball at 3b it seems inconsistent elsewhere. We’ll see how it goes but this looks like a very good team again.

Not baseball I know, but I couldn't be bothered to start a new thread and this seemed to be the best place to put it. Not a bad catch eh and no glove?! I'm not bashing baseball by the way as I like both sports and I'm delighted the Dodgers are going so well.

I always believed that you never know how good or bad your team is till June. The Padres are starting to fade back now. D-Backs too. Rockies got off to a horrendous start but now have climbed to 3 games over .500. If I remember correctly they were somewhere around 8 or 9 games under in April/early May. Sounds like they're righting the ship.

I did expect them to be the Dodgers biggest challenger. But down 9 games is a lot. I know I'm showing my age, but I remember back in the 70's the Dodgers got off to a hot start in April while the defending champ Reds struggled early. Dodgers opened a ten game lead by mid May. The Reds played better than the Dodgers the rest of the season but that ten game lead was too much to overcome. The Dodgers won it by a couple games at the end.

Somebody posted this on another site and it's a huge problem for the Rockies. This is all their free agent signings under the current GM.

The Major League Baseball draft has the first round on tonight! The next two rounds are tomorrow and the next day. I'm hoping that the Cards get another stud like Nolan Gorman with the 19th pick.

Well, we picked southpaw Zach Thompson with the 19th overall pick. Gotta say that I'm a fan of the pick; he would've easily been ranked higher, were it not for injuries.

Looks like the Dodgers picked a third baseman in this draft as well.

Ryu has a 17:1 k:bb ratio and none of his 5 walks on the year have scored.

Pujols came back to STL, and we cheered him for a minute-and-a-half.

Best fans ever.
