No debate when Brockers left the field against the Falcons they started ramming it down our throats. To compound that issue we had no real NT anyways to make up for Brockers loss so we literally had to DL positions getting manhandled by a playoff OL and damn good backs running through.
I wouldn't blame the inability to stop the run in the 2nd half entirely on the loss/absence of Michael Brockers. We also couldn't stop the completions of Matt Ryan....who is to blame fort this?

These were minor in relation to the run setting up the pass. Also, in no where did i say that the loss of absence was the only reason for this. If you go back and re-read my post i stated not having a true NT was alao at fault. We basically had to position down after Brockers went down and we over compensated to try and stop ths run thats when they threw some over the top. This is why im so excited we got Suh. No where do we have a glaring weakness.

And a damn good opinion it is.

My reasoning is this.
Brockers is probably the best run stuffer/immovable force of the three.

Why not put him a shade to the left or the right of the center and watch the guards get confused which opens up a rush lane/penetration possibility for Donald or Suh.

Brockers at 320 and shading would require a double team on a smaller center or a chip block by the guard.

That would allow sewer Donald to do their penetrating thing.

These veterans know how to stunt and shift as well, so yes to keep the offense sweating why not swap out Brockers and Suh sometimes?

Short answer; they will. :D

And when they start bringing up a linebacker on top of that it's going to be hell on the opposing offensive line.
I'm telling you.
Last year year they asked Brockers to slim down to 305-310, but if they have him play between the center and guard, I feel, as you alluded to, that Brockers should play at his usual playing weight, somewhere in the range of 320-330. That way making him much more of a factor against the running game.

And even if they play him differently I think somewhere around 320, and maybe 315 at the lightest is the weight he should be playing at this year. But in Wade we trust.

As always, this is my opinion only.

When Brockers went out and the Falcons ran at will, the Rams needed a backup or rotational DT that is better at stopping the run.

After watching the highlights of every Rams game from the 2017 season over the last week, it's apparent that the Rams were run over even with Brockers in the lineup. We need help to get that straightened out, which is why Suh was signed and will be plugged in the middle.

Los Angeles Rams defensive end Michael Brockers played just 24 of the team’s 73 defensive snaps in January’s playoff loss to the Atlanta Falcons.

It now seems there was a fairly understandable reason for why the Rams starter was so limited in such a crucial game.

According to Alden Gonzalez of ESPN.com, Brockers revealed Monday that he sustained a torn MCL in his knee in the game. Brockers left the contest midway through the second quarter after splitting a sack with Aaron Donald and did not return.

Brockers was on hand for the start of team offseason workouts on Monday. Players aren’t allowed to be on the field just yet and can’t line up against the other side of the ball until the latter stages of the offseason.

Brockers, a former defensive tackle prior to Wade Phillips’ arrival, moved to end when the team moved to a 3-4 front. He set a career-high with 55 tackles and his 4.5 sacks were the second-most of his career. Now he’ll get to line up alongside Donald and Ndamukong Suh, which gives the Rams three former first-round picks on their defensive front.

Yep. was just about to post this. That sucks so bad he got injured that game. Wonder if he had surgery and we just haven't heard about it. He was at VTA's today.

This injury just goes to show that we need a monster Run-stopping D-lineman to step into the breach. I'd like to see us pick up a true NT to step into the middle as a rotational guy in the draft.

But going back to the OP - I don't think anyone is thinking of Brockers as an after-though, (well maybe certain media types who just like to talk about the big names) he is a star D-lineman, that just happens to play along side Aaron Donald, which just happens to be a once in a lifetime athlete, now coupled with Suh another elite D-lineman, that triple threat is going to be talked about EVERY single week throughout the season.
