NFL: Los Angeles Rams at Cleveland Browns

Scott R. Galvin-USA TODAY Sports

The Los Angeles Rams have shifted into a defensive power in this year’s incarnation. The famed offense has struggled to get going. Do not fret, however, the crème de la crème always find a way to emerge victorious.
Welcome to the 2019 Rams.

Next up in the team’s quest to prove its might — and keep its record clean — is the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. They will face off at the LA Memorial Coliseum.
Let’s get into my five Rams to watch:

LT Andrew Whitworth/RT Rob Havenstein
The Bucs have one of the early season’s premiere pass rushers in Shaquil Barrett. Barrett has fully emerged in his first season as a full time starter, tallying up eight sacks in three games thus far.
The Rams’ duo at tackle will have their hands absolutely full for the game’s entirety with Shaq. Then, lets not forget former Detroit Lions/Miami Dolphins/LA Rams DL Ndamukong Suh.

CB Marcus Peters/Aqib Talib
Tampa boasts one of the league’s top WRs in Mike Evans. Third-year pass catcher Chris Godwin ain’t too shabby either. Evans recently went off for three TDs and 190 yards last week. Godwin had 121 yards and a score in Week 2. It is a pick-your-poison type of situation.
Luckily for LA, we have two good corners in Marcus and Aqib, who cn both hold more than their own. Expect the two to put up a fight and limit the Bucs’ pass catchers.

RB Malcolm Brown
The Rams have to get the running game rolling. It is a requisite for this offense. The pass is not as efficient without it. The best bet to get the ground game going? Malcolm Brown. He has been really quiet since his two TDs and 53 yards in Week 1. It is not known why. But if Todd Gurleycannot get going once again, it will be best for business if McVay can get Brown on the move.

WR Brandin Cooks
Cooper Kupp has been the Rams’ leading receiver through three contests with 23 catches and 268 yards. Brandin, however, is the team’s firepower catalyst. he leads the team with a 17.3 per catch average, 5.6 more yards than the next closest.
Cooks did great hauling in the long passes, but was has effective, if not better, moving the chains. For a Rams offense — and Jared Goff — that is still trying to get its footing, this “Brandin Cooks” is perfect
.
ILB Cory Littleton
The Bucs boast two very good running backs in Peyton Barber and Ronald Jones II. Both backs have over 160 rushing yards. Both complement each other well. Jones is the home-run hitter, averaging 5.3 per clip.
The Rams have upgraded in this arena, and Cory is one of those responsible for the improvement. Toss in Littleton’s play in coverage (TB also has a dangerous TE in O.J. Howard), and it makes him an invaluable piece this weekend.

Los Angeles Rams vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Five Buccaneers to watch

Who are these guys? The Rams are hosting a raw and uneven Bucs team in Week 4, but they can still do some damage. Here’s Joey’s five opponents to keep an eye on this week.

How many players on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers can a casual fan name? Aside from their former #1 draft pick, QB Jameis Winston, and superstar WR Mike Evans, it’s a group of dudes that don’t often get talked about in the average living room. However, they have a linebacker that’s ready for superstar-level accolades.
Despite their 1-2 record, these guys can absolutely make the game interesting for the Los Angeles Rams when they travel to the Los Angeles Coliseum on Sunday.

Here are my five Buccaneers to watch:
EDGE Shaq Barrett

This guy is a problem. Barrett has eight sacks on the year. If he had some tartar sauce on hand, he might have eaten QB Daniel Jones on live television bringing down the rookie QB four times in the game. With two forced fumbles on top of that, Barrett is the heart and soul of the Bucs defense right now. The Rams need all hands on deck to contain this dude.

DT Ndamukong Suh

Remember this guy? Well, he’s back in another uniform and it’s worth noting our interior lineman aren’t looking too hot — so this will be a challenge. Does Suh still have some gas left in the tank? Seems like it, especially with attention going to Barrett, Suh could have some one-on-one battles with C Brian Allen.

WR Mike Evans

Although the Bucs lost to the New York Giants in heartbreaking fashion last week, they had some bright spots. Evans showed that he’s a touchdown machine on Sunday adding three more to his stat sheet. The Rams’ secondary has been strong this season. Hopefully, they can conjure the same spell that kept WR Odell Beckham Jr. quiet last week.

RB Ronald Jones II

Is Jones the starter for the Bucs, or is it RB Peyton Barber? It’s still unclear, but Jones has been quite productive. He had 14 carries for 80 yards in the game against the Giants while Barber had 13 touches for 48 yards. Since Jones is a USC guy, look for him to be comfortable and ready to test the Rams’ run defense.

QB Jameis Winston

Drafted in 2015, the book on Winston should be finished...but maybe it’s being written by George R.R. Martin. As soon as it seems clear that Winston is a bust, he has a great game like he did last week, throwing for 380 yards with three touchdowns and one interception. Of course, all of those went to Evans, so that’s something to think about. In his week 1 game against the San Francisco 49ers, Winston looked like husk of a human that was trotted out onto the field like a sacrificial lamb, tossing up three interceptions and only one touchdown. What Winston will we see against the Rams? If the Rams D keeps up their solid play, probably the latter.

I was feeling like this game was a lock until I read this article. Thanks a lot! The Bucs have some pieces, but I anticipate our guys start hitting a stride on both sides of the ball Sunday. Rams 34-13.

Shaq Barret is good however he got 4 of his sacks against a terrible NYG team and 3 against a bad Carolina Oline.

Man a lot of teams are bad this year

I was beating the drum for Barrett offseason but if the Rams listened to me they’d have a$300m payroll.
