I’m very excited about the start of this season because last year the Rams started with a much worse cast of starters on offense, and whooped the Seahawks and only lost to the Niners by 7 points.

To put it into perspective, the offense had Tutu, Skowronek, Jefferson, and Noteboom all as starters. Throw in rookie level Nacua and Avila. They still went into Seattle and won then played the Niners tough to a seven point loss they were tied 17-17 at the half!

This season they start with the best greatest rookie receiver of all time in his second year of the offense - Puka, healthy Kupp, Demarcus Robinson, Experienced Kyren Williams, and a top five Oline. Plus better depth at RB and QB. This offense will look like 2017 Rams right out of the gate, and it will be better equipt to absorb an occasional injury.

The defense started a weak assemblage for the DB room and now the best DB on the team Witherspoon last year, could be the worst DB amongst starters this year. They started two third round rookies- Turner and Young, that now have a full season under their belts. Also, a huge weakness (maybe the biggest weakness) at Edge - Michael Hoecht
can go back to his best role inside, plus his time on the outside makes him much more versatile. Edge should be upgraded with Verse.

I haven’t been this pumped about the start of a Rams season since 2018, when I predicted they would go 13-3. This is a team that can win the Super Bowl.

Like any other season staying healthy will be key, however, I too like some of the improvements that were made including trying replace Donald in the aggregate.

It starts upfront and the Los Angeles Rams have invested heavily in that area including adding quality depth in the draft with additions of Beaux Limmer & KT Leveston.

The defensive line seems ready as I expect BBIII to be ready for a breakout year along with Fiske & the Conductor. OLB should be better with Verse and Bryon Young in his second year with added depth with Brennan Jackson.

The backend at CB still will have me hoping to add Ahkello Witherspoon to the mix with White playing the slot plus I feel strongly that Special Teams have been improved and you now have three young specialist with the Law Firm of Ward, Evans & Karty.

If you have not seen this kid block, you need to check it out.
also has soft hands,
Playing in a crowded and talented TE room in Seattle
he was way underutilized. This should be a career year for him.

1B
Kam Curl
Under known around league playing for losing franchise.
He will be a rising Star in LA.

Man I love what Snead and Co. did this offseason.
After getting so excited about our draft I almost lost
sight of the great job they did in UFA.
Picking up what could be 5 Solid starters,
a legitimate backup QB , While losing very little.

You might be missing a small detail.

Starts with an A and ends with a D.:crying:

No. I think they will be just fine. AD without AD. Sure it will be an adjustment, but not enough of one to stop this team from rolling through the season.

Plus, there is always the trade deadline to address any problems.

I do see possibility to shore up the defense with a couple of team roster cuts or remaining FAs (especially at CB/ILB).

Nobody knows what's going to happen, how they're going to mesh, how they're going to play but I appreciate the fact many are optimistic about the season. It beats the hell out of being down in the mouth, expecting a shit show and predicting doom and gloom. All this with the best player anybody has ever seen in a Rams jersey retiring. Now that's saying something!!!

16 weeks baby!!!

By any unbiased assessment the Rams had an elite 2023 Draft. What if they found the decoder ring and get similar results this year with 4 quality starters and 2-3 quality contributors. And even better that this continues for the foreseeable future.

Part of the key is the leadership test that they have draftable players take.

If Verse works out they might just decide to hold onto their first round picks come trade deadline! Wouldn't that be something?

No one knows what the Rams' D will be like without AD. NO ONE, not even opposing D coordinators. They can guess, but that's it.
They've had a known constant on the Rams D-line for 10 years. They know the Rams would try to move him around to mix things up, but without a strong edge presence, AD can be game-planned.
But how are they going to plan for Verse & Fiske & Turner & Young & Tyler (NT / DT kid from Clemson)?? They might have some ideas from watching tape of the 'Noles but that's it.
I think with Turner & Young in their 2nd years, and Verse on the outside, we should have an upper hand, at least in planning / on paper, over other team's blocking schemes. It's now up to them to prove their talents are worth what the Rams have invested in them.

Agreed. And, although it may not be a popular opinion on this board, 2023 AD did not look as dominant as he did when the Rams won the Super Bowl.

So with the added quality and youth up front, I am not expecting some enormous fall off in production. The Rams pass rush was actually a weakness last year.

So, no more Hoecht at edge. Year two for Turner and Young should be an upgrade. I see Verse, Fiske, and Davis as rotational upgrades. Sure, rookies can flop. I know I’m projecting, but I like the high motors of the players they drafted. If nothing else that relentless drive should be able to create more overall pressure on defenses, than what the Rams got last year. With an improved secondary that should be enough.

Very high on both these signings.
