As was a bit hard on him early on. Mostly because I really wanted Carr in the 2nd rnd that year.
With Goff in horns, I am now very pleased we have Joyner. Hes been a huge part of our success this year.

When I pointed him out to my wife, when he was on the field, she thought he was too small until she saw some of the plays he made. That pick was a thing of beauty. He is playing really well. Reminds me of the safety who played for Indy a few years back. Although Joyner may be small in size, he can bring the wood and can cover the field.
Wife and I met Archuletta in STL and as soon as she saw him (after the panty puddles were over lol) she made the comment that he was too small to play in the NFL

Before they made him the FS I always wondered how he could do there. He has terrific closing speed, can play sideline to sideline and like others said, he lays the wood. I honestly thought he could do something similar to what Earl Thomas does once he learns the nuances of the position. I might be more right than I figured. (y)

He was a solid nickel CB, but this move to safety has unlocked his full potential.

Thankfully, having NRC at nickel allows this to be a reality.

Get move by the coaching staff to make this a possibility.

these two need to be signed up long term. plus tru. don't get me started on ad. and sammy.

good luck this off season les snead.

Special instincts, and athletic ability . We need to lock him up.

Only worry with him is longevity since he is alot smaller than almost every safety in the leauge .

His size really is something, I'm not sure how worried I am about it.

He packs such a punch. It really is unbelievable. He hits dudes coming at him, that are bigger than him, that moving at full speed, and they are the one that goes backwards.

He has a pretty incredible story too! I believe many of his family members, close family-like played football with them growing up in life, are locked up in jail (maybe his Dad). I also may be totally botching this memory. But I think he dedicated himself to football as a promise to keep himself from that life leading to jail.

Size wise. . . let's call him the Aaron Donald of the secondary

Many of us knew Joyner would make a great Free Safety. Not sure why Fisher never tried it, but THANK GOD for Wade Phillips!!!

At least with Fisher, some of us fans actually knew things he didn't...

That was never comforting. I NEVER want to know more than the HC, cuz that's bad...

Bob Sanders. First player I thought of when watching his college tape. Joyner is healthy too.
Forgot his name buts thats who he reminded me of too. thanks. And yes, Joyner is a healthy version of Sanders. Sanders was a beast but the injuries killed his career. knock on wood for Joyner.

That segment on hard knocks of Joyner is all the more damming of Fisher. Knowing he asked for a full time position and has the skill set to excel at FS. Whether it was pride or whatever to not even give the kid a chance shows how bad of a coach he really was imo. Joyners production this year speaks for itself.

Not that this is necessarily coaching, but one of my favorite stats:

LaMarcus Joyner's first three years: 0 INTs

This year: 3 INTs, 1 TD, top 5 safety in the NFL

It's coaching in the sense that Joyner has never been good at picking off passes with his back to the QB. He's a guy who will pick off passes when he's allowed to play with his eyes to the QB. That's why I always thought he should be a FS for us.

Talk about a dude that comes with bad intentions. I'm still in awe of him going through Will Fuller. The beautiful part is he has elite cover skills the last couple of years. He's the FS for the next 2-4 years IMO, lock it up! Bring back Cody Davis too!

Pleasantly surprised....serious doubter after watching him in the slot.
Rams can if they desire easy enough resign corners Troy Hill :cautious:, & they already have corners Peterson & Hatfield along with safeties Countess & Christian who been active this season to assist Wade "D" too. So if you added in the draft a few bigger taller corners utilizing 2 of the 3 {3rd 4th 5th or our three 6th rd selections}.... to go with what we have already have it would put Wade in good not great situation .
that's just a terrible option.....
Only worry with him is longevity since he is alot smaller than almost every safety in the leauge .
mine too....

but, she was correct, no? How many seasons did he play?

But he's too short! /blue font
I confess that I was skeptical about the move because of his height. I guess if you don't let any behind you, you don't have to worry about jump balls. I'm SO glad I was proven wrong.

McSnead, please re-sign Joyner! He's like a little ball of fury, much like Bob Sanders and Tyrann Mathieu (healthy).

i fine it ironic the rams moved him from linebacker because he was undersized ,,, and now think of the proliferation of sfateys moving down to play linebacker

buchannon in AZ
our own Mark Barron
cravens in washington ... i think plays a ole similar to barron played last year for us
and Kam chan in seattle plays a lot as a box safety

Arch was a great player and could have been that hybrid before hybrids were a thing but that back injury ruined him
