True or False? If true what do you folks think about adding him, and giving up a 1st round pick per the rumors?

While I have thought to myself about the possibilty of acquiring Bowe, that article is pure speculation. Not even a rumour.

I would love Bowe though. Perfect fit for Sam.

P.S. First post on the board, how's everyone doing?

Welcome aboard.

I'd probably pass. He's a UFA next year and if rumors are true that he wants out of KC that badly, he'll be available anyway. Unless he's signing an extension I wouldn't give up more than a 5th rounder. If he does sign an extension then a 1st would be appropriate.

He's kind of flashy though, he can make some great catches and then be quiet for a while. I wouldn't hate him on our team (unless it's a gross overpayment and he doesn't produce) but I wouldn't be upset if we stay away.

I think Bowe has talent and I wouldn't mind seeing him in horns but NO WAY I give up a 1st for him.

I guess he's not as old as I thought (28?), still no fucking way in hell I give up a 1st round pick for him.

I agree, 28's a bit old. We might get what, 3 maybe 4 good years out of him. No thanks. Maybe a 3rd round pick

Hes in a really tough spot. Matt Cassel and Quinn are not good QBs, or any other QB in KC since hes been there. Hes been an inconsistent player, hes mostly been putting up a lot of stats in garbage time this season, the team is terrible, so he could be losing out on some money in FA based on all those factors.

Not sure he's even put up one good year, has he? Definitely not worth giving up a 1st for him.
I like our WRs and they're only gonna get better.

I would pass on Bowe for a 1st or anything close to that. He might be a rental player unless he gets V Jax money.

The rumor I have heard a few times and put NO substance in is the SJax for Welker swap. This would make sense for both teams but would never happen.

Dwayne Bowe is an upper tier WR by his numbers, and he's a big play guy. I would be all for picking him up, he'd be a huge asset on our team. I'd give a #2 for him. I can't believe how many years that I have said this in a row...no more WR draft picks, we are very young at the position, and we need a good veteran for Sam right now, if not yesterday.

Completely agree. So long as we signed Bowe to a long-term deal, I don't see the harm in giving up a second round pick. He's clearly better than what his numbers have shown, and he'd be a good mentor for our younger receivers. Sam needs a big-play threat, and Bowe can give us that. Then you use your first round picks for other needs (i.e., offensive tackle, safety, and/or outside linebacker) or we could trade down and pick up an additional second round pick like we did last year.

Well said. Many 1st round WRs become busts. Not to mention the many years it takes for them to develop. Lets be smart here.

At 28, with decreasing production, Bowe is not worth a 1st round pick. A 3rd or 4th maybe, definitley not a 1.

He's a top 8 receiver in the AFC, top 16 in the NFL total...with hardly nobody throwing to him, declining...I think not, but a #2 would be my top offer.

If the Rams were to sign Bowe, what current WR hits the road? Steve Smith?
