Jersey Count-Down, #67

Let's get started with, probably, the BEST MLB the Ram's EVER had at #67 - Les Richter:

OK! Les wore #48 most of his career, But he started out with #62, and when we get to that number I'll have a lot more on him. But he deserves it!

I've always thought it was a SHAME Les passed away before he went into the Hall of Fame! (This is his Son w/ His Bust!)

Next up at #67 OG/C/LB- Dick Daugherty:

" I love those Horns!"



Next- DT - Urban Henry:

Urban later switched to #50, when he went from O-Line to LB.


Next on our Hit Parade, DT Bill Nelson:

This is the only Pic of Nelson ( second from right) that I could find! Back in the mid 70's they knew how to practice and have FUN!


Next up, OG - Duval Love:

Do you notice, who his job was to protect!? ( Everett!)

He must have done a pretty good Job, Everett still holds the Rams Passing Yards Record!

( I have to Pause and re-load!) Right back!! 4 more players to come!

Selvie also wore #90, But I believe the reason we didn't keep him is we had Chris Long & Leonard Little, so he was Odd man out!


Next up Our O-lineman of the Future, OG/C - Barrett Jones:

I sure hope he can put it all together this year!

Funny great job @DaveFan'51 I remember being 7 or 8 years of age (73-74) and I had a Ram knock off jersey (never could get authentic stuff back then) must of been from Sears blue & yellow number 67.

Kids would ask me, "Who wears 67 for the Rams?" And my response was "Bill Nelson." And they would respond, "Who?" Bill Nelson that's who! Back then I always had an edge in football knowledge because I went the extra mile, but nowadays everyone can bluff to an extent until you enter into a discussion...Bill Nelson baby, thank you @DaveFan'51 !

Now that was a most excellent Ram center. Wonder if they will ever do a "bowl of donuts" designed trophy to remember that trio.... Marshall sure loved running up the middle through the holes those three made for him.

Now that was a most excellent Ram center. Wonder if they will ever do a "bowl of donuts" designed trophy to remember that trio.... Marshall sure loved running up the middle through the holes those three made for him.

Just a little commentary to add about these Players:
* LB - Led Richter-1954-1962 (Also wore #48)

He started as a Kicker wearing #67, then switched numbers when he started playing MLB!
in 112 games he had 29 FG's w/ a long of 42 Yards. and 106 XP's. He went to 8 Pro Bowls and is in the Hall of Fame!!

* OG/C/LB - Dick Daugherty - 1951-1958

He switched to #50 when he became a LB. In his 6 seasons he played in 69 games and had 2 INT's for 44 yards and 2 TD's w/ a long of 32 yards. he also had 6 FR's and 1 Safety.

* DT - Uban Henry - 1961

He came to us at the end of his career, and only had 1 FR in his 14 games with the Rams.

* DT - Bill Nelson - 1971-1975

" Great Line Dancer!" He played in 47 games for us But I couldn't find anything in the way of stats on him! But he was a Good Player!

* OG - Duval Love - 1985-1991

In his 7 seasons as a Ram he played in 94 games, he did fine work protecting Everett, but as an O-Lineman not much in the way of stats. He did have 5 FR's!

* DT - Myron Lapka - 1982-1983

Sorry nothing much here, he played in 6 games for us/ No stats.

* DE - George Selve - 2010

George played in 16 games and had 1.5 sacks/ 13 Tackles and 6 assists.

* OG/C - Barrett Jones 2013-2014

For 10 games I kept thinking he was going to have a break-out game! He never worked out!!

* OG - Ted Karras - 1966

OK! He was Alex's Brother, But No Mongo!
He played in 4 games for the Rams.

* DT/OT/OG - Charles 'Chuck' Janerette - 1960

He played in 12 games, had no recordable stats, But he wasn't that bad.

* OG - Dwayne White - 1995-1996

"What else can I say!?!" he played in 31 games and had 1 FR!

Finally:
* OG - Andy McCollum - 1999-2007

" I wish I had a lot more pictures of him!!"
GSOT - OG That says a lot! In his 9 season he played in 128 games and had 2 FR's. STATS AREN'T EVERYTHING!!

Back in the day with guys like Urban, they could switch from guard to LBer. OLineman were only around 250#’s
