Report: Earl Wolff was kidnapped, released unharmed
Posted by Zac Jackson on March 5, 2016

Jaguars safety Earl Wolff was abducted by a group of gunmen last month but was later returned unharmed, Wolff’s hometown newspaper, the Fayetteville Observer, has reported.

The report said one arrest has been made and police are unsure if Wolff was targeted or that the abduction and robbery were random. Fayetteville (N.C.) Police said they received a call regarding Wolff being forced into a car by gunmen at about 3 a.m. Feb. 23.

The Eagles waived Wolff last August because the team thought his knee injury wasn’t going to heal. He signed with the Jaguars practice squad in December, then signed a futures contract with the Jaguars in January.

Wolff, a fifth-round pick in 2013, played 18 games and made seven starts for the Eagles, collecting 52 tackles and an interception.
