Corporal punishment is still practiced in Texas schools, isn't it? Seems kind of hypocritical to prosecute him if that's the case.
The more I read, the more I feel like AP was discipling his son. He was very open about what he did, had his son tell and show his mother the punishment he got and praised his son for not crying.
Personally, I don't know what the right answer is but IMO, the threat of a timeout is pretty ineffective. I don't think one should start with a spanking, but if your kids won't listen then it needs to get to that point eventually. If they don't fear the consequences of their actions, I think it will ultimately cost them in the long run.
