At this point they’re determining players 6-9 for that OL.

About the rumored Boom trade possibility. Doesn’t make a helluva lot of sense cap wise for 2023 but ask yourself this question.

IF Rams are in trade talks over Boom, would they not be holding him out with the same type of some vague excuse? Of course they would.

And instead of a Boom for pick trade, what if it was a player-for-player trade with some team with excess talent at edge, TE, DL, or maybe CB? Wouldn’t that make a helluva lot of sense? Could be a win-win for both teams. And would help a 2023 Ram team THIS year. A team thin at a couple of positions.

IF Boom is traded, Rams would still have McClendon as possible swing LOT or maybe RT. And Zach Thomas sure looked good at LG (and presumably at RG) which is the other position that Rams have been testing Boom.

More I think about it the more doable this hypothetical trade seems. Would love to be a fly on the wall in Snead’s office right now. Lol.

We’ll probably get some answers in the next few days, one way or another.

LT Jackson, 6'7", 285 lbs
LG Avila 6'3", 332 lbs
C Shelton 6'4", 299 lbs
RG Thomas 6'5", 300 lbs
RT Havenstein 6'8", 330 lbs

Next year will be interesting. Rob will be 32 yo with a cap hit of $14.7M. A post June 1 release gains the Rams an additional $6.5M in cap space. I still think they want McClendon at RG. Thomas has better feet and would be a better RT prospect. Either that or continue to play with a slow footed RT with McClendon. Either way the Rams have options.

This is who has been on the first team Oline during the last part of training camp, which generally shows who will get the start come the opening game of season. So the only position up for grabs is the Center position, which I feel will go to Allen, leaving Shelton to being a primary backup for the interior.

I would like to see Thomas at RG vs the Raiders. He seems to have a knack for getting the job done.

IF Boom is traded
Here's the logic chain that I believe is required for us to move Boom at the deadline:

1. Jackson has to lock LT down and stay healthy.
2. McClendon has to continue to show good feet and awareness at OT in these last couple preseason games.
3. Someone has to emerge as RG. I agree with Bubba that Anchrum will be the guy but they are obviously trying different combos.
4. Boom has to stay healthy.

So if we get to the trade deadline and Boom gets moved I'll view it as a combination of things going our way. I think it is possible but not necessarily probable.

Jackson/Avila/Shelton/Anchrum/Havenstein. I feel like that is the best combo to start the season. Allen backs up center. Thomas backs up the guard spots. Noteboom backs up the tackle spots. You hope it doesn't come down to Bruss backing up a tackle spot.

As bad as Tutu Atwell pick seemed to be for Rams Fans.
Logan Bruss just added insult to injury’s. 2022 & The Rams not looking ahead a season before is what HURTS!!
-Sean Mcvay & that Draft Room about how NERVOUS Mcvay got was a bad luck & an act of being desperate.
In 2021 The Rams won The Superbowl, but Austin Corbett & Andrew Whitworth both were FA’s.
Add Shelton,Noteboom, & Allen we’re all Free Agents as well!!

WTF - we’re The Rams thinking is my question?? I think that gets over looked.Tutu Atwell might be a special Ram.He actually is a better WR than Tavon Austin. He should have a nice NFL career.

All said what a find Alaric Jackson was & what a GREAT JOB Les Snead (scouts) does with finding those UDRFA’s. It’s amazing. Add looking around The NFL with Ram Players that Snead drafted.

I’d also say GO FISH if you’re predicting The Rams starting 5 & backups. At least I don’t have a clue on the numbers. Zach Thomas really made a statement & has to be in talks.

Except who is going to take him and his contract? He's been dealing with injuries and his play has not been at the same level we saw earlier in his career.

Perhaps it's me but not sure if I'm a team with lots of depth I'm willing to give it away for that level of JAG.

WTF would trade for Joe Noteboom? If he can’t start here then where would he start?

I think the Guard experiment was to see if he could be a backup at 2 spots

I honestly don't see anyone who would be interested in a trade for Noteboom. Unless the Rams were willing to throw in something else. Like a draft pick. He's a guy who gets hurt a lot. He's got a cap hit next year at 20 million according to spotrac. And frankly, he really isn't that good. Especially at guard.

There has to be a reason why it’s not feasible ($$$, injury, performance) but why not go for Dalton Risner. I know it’s a small sample size but I am not comfortable with what I’ve seen from Anchrum. Decent depth? Yeah. quality Starter? I am not feeling it.
I got a bad feeling about Joe Noteboom.
Even Mama Noteboom has a bad feeling about Joe Noteboom.

May be as simple as the $.

The next free agent the Rams sign in 2023 for more than the veteran minimum, will be the first free agent the Rams sign in 2023 for more than the veteran minimum.

Brett Rypien, Sony Michel, Demarcus Robinson, Tyler Johnson, Ahkello Witherspoon, Royce Freeman and John Johnson ... that's been it; and they all signed for close to the vet minimum.

Those free agents still unsigned may simply be waiting ... and hoping ... for more than the minimum.
