I apologize if I missed a discussion on this already - but have we thought about what teams would suffer the most - or gain the most - if the NFL season is played in empty or mostly empty stadiums?

The SeaChickens come to mind right away. As to the Saints.

I wonder if the field might be so quiet that the players can hear the coaches yelling all the way up to the snap. Would a quiet environment mean more audibles just before the snap? Less miscommunication? Fewer false starts?

The Rams will benefit from it, instead of having a stadium half full of the opposing teams fans, that out-shout our own fans, there will be no one there.

The Chargers (squatters) will be unaffected, they play in front of empty stadiums every Sunday.

Actually I been wanting to talk about this subject. Maybe not exactly like @12intheBox asked but how much of a noise factor is our stadium going to have? Or we even going to be comparable to Seattles, Saints, KC's, or Pittsburghs stadium as far as noise goes? I hope they made that into consideration when making this stadium.

Or we even going to be comparable to Seattles, Saints, KC's, or Pittsburghs stadium as far as noise goes? I hope they made that into consideration when making this stadium.

I don’t know, but would guess the new stadium was built for comfort, luxury, and viewing experience. I doubt that the acoustics of making it loud on the field were in the top 5 design considerations. Moreover, and meaning no disrespect, we aren’t exactly the Screaming at the Top of our lungs type of fan base. Maybe we can be someday - but we sure haven’t been.

I watch games from across for the county - I'd like nothing more than for them to play in some reverberating box where the sound is just deafening in front of countless foaming at the mouth maniacs screaming at all the right times. That just doesn't seem to be our thing - so far.

The games I’ve been are probably bad examples, division rivals, or first game back in LA but it was pretty damn crazy then. I’d imagine it will be loud asf come inside their with the bowl and rough reverberating compared to the shape of USC stadium. Going to be interesting.

I guess the top 6 teams here would be affected as would the Eagles and the Giants.

They have talked about the sound on TV. Some different scenarios could take place. One thing is that with no background noise the TV audience would be hearing a lot of cursing which wouldn't play well for the NFL. I hear they could pipe in sound at least on TV. Some think it would be nice to hear the signals on the field. It has to help the Rams.

I wonder.... the stadium is basically built into the ground... if a plane flies over at the peak of some crowd noise... it would seem potential to be nice and loud.
