1) So Scherff is the consensus top Olineman in the draft.

2) But many think he can't play LT and may only be able to play RT or Guard.

3) So, how do we compute the idea of some of the top tackles playing guard instead?

Guys like Flowers and Clemmings have been projected as tackles but have been mentioned as possible inside players at guard. (Not sure that Peat can swing inside to guard.) These guys may have longer arms, are taller and more athletic on the outside but what if we play them inside first (say if we got Barksdale back). Does that somehow place them above Scherff then? Is Scherff still the top pick on Oline if we just looked at playing guys inside?

Good question. .... It's hard to answer answer this question. . I would say BS projects the best inside because of his quickness and tenacity and strength in a short area..not sure if the bigger tackles can stay low enough to play guard .. ...although. ..lol I cannot wait for Thursday night so the Rams can give us all the answers we have been asking.... ;)

Go Rams.......... ;)

Scherff projects well inside because it emphasizes his strengths like his raw power, wide base, and hand placement and hides his weaknesses like his stiffness and keeps him away from speed rushers.

I still wouldn't be comfortable taking him in the top 10 to play a non-premium position where he hasn't even played recently, there will be better players available.
