I have read in various posts over the years, that certain position/HC's are QB whisperers. That by their unique abilities, they are able to develop a QB into a Tom Brady...a Drew Brees...a Joe Montana...

Of course, an offensive minded coach will create the Oline that can pass protect, and the WR group that can run great routes...If all that it took was a QB with skills to follow the offensive gameplan, then Jeff George and Ty Detmer would have been stars. If a QB has inherent abilities like pocket presence, vision, throwing ability, and just plain guts, is THAT what counts?.....So do coaches like Bill Walsh, Don Coryell, Bill Bellicheck, Don Shula, do anything but provide the surrounding environment that allows a QB to do his thing, or do they do specific coaching that makes a QB a franchise QB?

The Scheme can make the Quarterback and the Head Coach devises the scheme...Bill Walsh's offense was a perfect match for Montana and Don Coryell enabled the Quarterback to exploit defenses. Bill Belichick realized after losing to Peyton Manning that your were better off with an offense that was open and ensured his offensive coordinators, Weis, McDaniles, O'Brien & McDaniels had the luxury of calling their shots and of course Tom Brady.

It takes two to tangle and you need both, however, some coaches are QB whisperers, Mike Martz was a good example, Trent Green, Kurt Warner & Marc Bulger all were successful running his scheme, so now we need to find the right Head Coach with the right scheme for Jared Goff, but in the end you need an offensive line that can protect and that is why Belichick coaxed Dante Scarnecchia out of retirement because they could not protect Brady enough to run the scheme they have been running since 2001.
