I was impressed with their run game and play mix. Schottenheimer has gotten lots of grief for his tenure under Fisher with the Rams, but he was better than his critics thought and 100x better than the guys who came after him.

They really looked like the replacement refs during the walkout year! Most home cooked calling I've seen against the Rams in a long time. That ref not throwing the PI when it happened right in front of him, crazy. Donald getting the hands to the face and no call also crazy, and he was held all day. We could go on and on. Got the win and freak the refs.

Don't get me wrong. I still hate them. But that team was better than last year's, despite losing some core talent.

I know the refs helped them, and Peters played like shit, so that helped them too. But they still ran the ball well with a mediocre line. I don't think it was the Rams run defense as much as Sheattle's run game. They ran on the Cowboys and Cardinals too.

I doubt it's as close a game the next time they meet but I wasn't expecting any fight from them this time around.

Schotty’s not a terrible play caller. He’s certainly not upper-echelon, but he does well enough with this kind of offense. He put together the plan they said they were going to use, and executed it. Can’t ask him to do much more than that.

All that said, I don’t miss that kind of offense.
