Late last week, Los Angeles Rams running back Todd Gurley was asked about why his team hasn’t joined in on the team touchdown celebration craze sweeping across the league.

Gurley gave interesting answer as to why the Rams haven’t been taking advantage of the NFL’s relaxed celebration rules. Via Joe Curley of the Ventura County Star:

“We get in there so much, we don’t have to do it every time ... I don’t have all day to do a whole cha-cha slide, electric slide.”

This is almost as sweet as his knock on NFL for making teams play in London

IMO the team celebrations have been very corny. Just Bob n' Weave or GTFO

Back in the day, when a pro bowl type player made a great play and TD, they just dropped the ball and walked back to the bench like no big deal.

Now-a-days they act like little kids in Pop Warner.

Man I miss the old days of the NFL, when men acted like men, and not little kids.

Screw that. Even if they are getting paid they should be allowed to celebrate in any way they want unless they are demeaning the other team. This is a competitive high emotion sport not an office job.

You do realize that they are playing a sport. A game. So what if they want to have a little fun or there? This is an entertainment business.

Maybe fans should act like real men and women and stop cheering and screaming and acting like lunatics in the stands.

I hope they celebrate when they make the winning play in a playoff game.

We still haven't seen them dump the bucket on McVay.
I predict it'll happen this weekend when we clinch a playoff spot.

Whatever, you're entitled to your opinions others are entitled to there's

Personally, if I wanted to be "entertained" by athletes, I'd go to a women's figure skating event or a Circus.

But I do believe that the players shouldn't just celebrate every play, do it when you truly did something special! A Hate-Trick of Sacks! Your 2nd or 3rd TD in the game! Doing the one thing that turns a game around, or put the game away! Not just because you Tackled someone, or caught a ball for a 2 yard gain!

I don't mind the celebrations for the most part. But unfortunately, they are taking a rule and going overboard with it. The NFL once again, over reacted to the problem and then instead of easing back on the freeway, cut directly to the passing lane. Spontaneous celebrations are cool IMO. Scripted celebrations make them look like a bunch of teenage girls.

Why exactly do you watch the Rams or football in general? Maybe you should look up the word entertainment.

This isn’t the 60s 70s 80s. The culture has changed. So you don’t like them doing some silly celebrations. That’s fine. But it is still a game, and players should have fun whether you or I like it or not.

I don't mind the celebrations but most are not original nor entertaining, for me. I'd like to see one guy hike the ball somewhere in the end zone as a set up for someone to spike it over the crossbar. Something like that.

And I don't like the running forward flip. Players usually land awkward and I think its too much of an injury risk. Back flip is fine as its stationary and most land it. But again its not original at this point.

That's what we need: more hipsters coming up with the celebration (not that you're a hipster, no offense intended).

"Front flips and spiking the ball are too main stream. Let's do something that highlights the disappointment I feel for making the other team lose."
~hipster American football catch and run artist (wide receiver is too main stream also).

You old guys remember when the home team would be penalized if the crowd was too loud for the opponent's O players to hear their QB's cadence? I do.
