Why did he not win NFC specialist of the week? They gave it to a Cowboy who had three tackles and two returns for 19 yds. I didn't see any of the tackles, but when you hit four FG's including one to win the game I think that's got to be a better day.

Sounds like he had a pretty active day, but still....

Three coverage tackles and his efforts forcing one of the Giants’ six turnovers on Sunday night garnered Cowboys wide receiver Dwayne Harris NFC Special Teams Player of the Week honors for Week One.

The NFL announced Harris’ selection on Wednesday.

A third-year pro from East Carolina, Harris recorded two tackles on punts and another on a kickoff in the Cowboys’ 36-31 win vs. the Giants. However, his biggest play on special teams came in the third quarter, when he batted a Giants’ muffed punt away from New York cornerback Jayron Hosley and toward Cowboys linebacker DeVonte Holloman, who recovered on the Giants’ 16.

On the next play, Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo connected with Harris on a 12-yard reception to set up 1st-and-goal at the New York four-yard line. From there, Romo hit tight end Jason Witten for a touchdown to give Dallas a 27-10 lead.

Though Harris played just four offensive snaps on Sunday night, Romo threw his way three times. He finished with two catches for 12 yards.

Overall, Harris played 22 special-teams snaps. In addition to the three tackles and his role in the fumble recovery, he returned two punts for 19 yards.

That is strange. Only 19 yards for two carries? Did those tackles all cause fumbles or something? Geez.
