This plays on exactly my presumption that people are so mentally conditioned by shittty sports media of 15 years + that they want info asap and debated like monkeys for a hour long show.

This is changing. Those shows like like not just some moronic half assed take from a personality ( then you’ll bitch sports media is shit) are coming to an end. ( or at least to a point) The winds are changing in the industry.

ESPN is realizing this with evidence of all the release of the old guard and reworking of contracts to existing personal and picking up YouTube top rated shows like Pat McAfee that blow out any of their so called ‘premier’ shows by ratings.

Brett Kollman had better in depth takes than 95% of anybody you’ll see on espn or fox sports.

Ps he’s not some hack like Jake EllenBooger who’s still stuck on the “ i got to be the fastest person reporting something even though it’s not true” from the early 2010’s style. He has very good insights and football concept knowledge that playing myself and knowing what key reads and secondary reads and concepts are etc.

but this video he kept going on and on in the first 5 minutes without giving anything for me to keep watching.

Media sucks regardless of what they cover. They just sensationalize the wrong stuff IMO. Add to that Disney has pissed people off in every one of their branches of business and is losing followers/customers like crazy. None of this is surprising to me.

I am unfamiliar with Brett Kollmann, so I read some background/bio stuff, then jumped on youtube.

He did a 2022 Mock Draft show. After picking Aidan Hutchinson to Jacksonville #1, he had QB Malik Willis to the Lions at #2 overall. No one is perfect with NFL mocks; and it's foolish to judge too quickly off one mistake.

But Malik Willis #2 overall?!?!

Great post, and the message is clear. Networks are a dinosaur. Nobody watches ESPN for their content any more. There was a time I'd just ESPN on and watch the same sportscenter over and over. I havent watched Sportscenter in likely 5-10 years. I think the next wave we'll see (and this is good news for Rams fans) will be eliminating these huge contracts for the game announcers. Why pay Tony Romo 30 mill to broadcast a game that folks will watch regardless. This "talent" that got the axe? They werent talent, they were filler. Folks go to twitter, podcasts etc for their info, and its only going to get worse (for them)
