Just for fun...list your FA players of interest at every position...obviously the Rams won't be looking to FA to fill every hole...and some positions don't even have holes, but what I'm suggesting we do here is to put down FA players at every position that you think would fit what the Rams are trying to do, if for the sake of discussion, they would be trying to add to each position through FA.

Here is what I think...I tried to keep the positions relevant to price/need. I also excluded the specialist...Although I said every position I think that the kickers would be extremely futile.

QB: Clemens (familiarity/earned it)...and Cassel (though seems odd, but he fits the mold of career backup)

RB: Moreno, Gehrhart...(Moreno kind of contradicts my price/need, but his market is kind of hard to read...I think Gerhart would be a great fit behind Stacy)

FB: John Kuhn (Honestly, the Rams don't have a true FB and they probably won't anytime soon...and the FA market here is thin...so I took the most recognizable name)

WR: Maclin (he has sure hands, good route runner, fast, versatile) R.Cooper (pretty good size, sure hands)

TE: B. Myers (good secondary pass catching TE) Hoomanuanui (would fit as a blocking TE with the occasional catch)

OT: Oher or Giacomini (either could fill as the swing tackle and won't command the big bucks)

OG: Saffold or Beadles (Saffold could be a probowler at G...Beadles is a bit of an underrated FA)

C: Alex Mack (duh)

DE: W. Smith (scheme fit)

DT: Carrington (a young tackle that can do many things)

OLB: Dunbar (knows the system and aggressive)...E. Henderson (kind of a character risk, but can play both SLB and MLB)

MLB: Vilma (scheme fit, though a question with Williams)

CB: Talib (best available) Verner (scheme fit and could be a high quality player)

S: Ward, Delmas (Both seem to fit the Rams well).

I don't have the brain power at the moment to go into that kind of depth.

I do agree, for the most part with your picks. I'm looking at the way you are spreading the money around. Is this a pure, for fun thread? Or are you trying to crystal ball scenarios for our actual F/A signings?

I was better at guessing likely targets with the other regime. I totally missed on Finnegan because I thought he would go to Detroit with Schwartz and be closer to the playoffs. Then I said that the Rams would not spend the money on Cook or Jake Long because the cap was too tight and they needed to keep some space for their own Free agents down the road.

That is three strikes, so I am out.
