However, I will just day that sadly this obviously never should have happened if we took immigration laws seriously and for that one basic reason, and it scares the hell out of me to think that this could have happened to one of my kids or loved ones.

This happens a lot more than you think. I know 3 people that have gotten into horrible wrecks. Some idiot pulls right out in front of them, terrible crash and out of the car comes out illegals who can not speak a word of English. One time a whole family, 4-5 kids were in the car. Hurt, but not serious. My friends truck T bones them and flipped end over end.
I seen right in front of my house a car that the driver had no idea how to actually drive. Every driveway they passed, even offramps, they wrong way they tried to turn on. I followed the car and out comes to Mexicans, cowboy type, hats and all and the woman was "trying" to drive. Yelled at them, did not understand a word of English. Went into the store like nothing happened. Its like they were "practicing" or something.
These people have no respect for our laws. Just the fact they are here proves that.
Get them out. They are not after "strawberry" picking jobs anymore. After REAL jobs. DO take them from citizens.
Here is what they do, get here however they can. I know a bunch that came here as mules running drugs. Then they pay someone 50$ for a fake SS card that looks EXACTLY like yours and mine. I had a gal show me hers and flick it with here finger and said, "see , now I am just as good as YOU, just as good". Now she a a good job at a university with top bennifits. Better than mine. Came here with a backpack full of heroin.
But once they get here, they have "RIGHTS". They know every way to get public assistance there is, they all know. Have lots of kids now you have to educate them. Anchor babies. Citizens , should not be but that is a whole other deal.
Its a huge problem. And if you say it the way it is the libs tell you you are "racist".
Just because someone calls you that does not mean you are one. Its actually just common sense. Can not have all these people pouring in from dirt poor countries and taking what we have. Its takes our collective wealth. Takes us all 'down". Like I wrote, these people are not after low level jobs anymore. After YOUR job. Happened to me. One guy got a job over me years ago and I knew for a fact he was illegal. The place we both applied to hired a Hispanic HR person. I was way over qualified for the position. But willing to take it. Times are better now but in a pinch I was willing to do it.
Not racist, just common sense.
Get them out, build the wall. A man just died and his family had their life ruined. Happens all the time to people you never heard from.

Well said, and accurate. Prayers go out to BOTH men that were killed in this incident. (Uber driver?)

But as you stated, there is a deeper problem. I don't care what people call me. I have compassion and love for all people. But, there is a brazen attitude with illegal alien interlopers, and the media criminally under reporting of the problems, especially in the Southern states, (California, Texas, Arizona, New Mexico, etc.)

Unfortunately, Political Correctness is a mental disorder. It gets people killed. In this case, the best wall we can build is the wall that says: America will treat you like they do non-citizens entering your southern border. It will not end well for you. (Of course nobody wants to enter their Sh*thole country) No housing stipend. No free education. No free health care. No cool credit card you can slide for food.) Word gets out pretty quick. They'll stop coming illegally. There will still be opportunities to immigrate here. Just not if your intentions are nefarious.

THAT approach is compassion. Compassion for young ladies walking piers in San Francisco with their fathers. Compassion for families driving to make it safely to their destination. Compassion for brave border agents. Compassion for teenagers to not be taken in with destructive drug habits. Compassion for NFL linebackers, and their Uber driver. You know. Compassion.

The other kind of compassion is evil. Both for hopeful people in corrupt countries that need to focus on improving their own situation, as well as citizens of our great country.

And yes lot's of things can be done to stop the problem, but this isn't one of them.
