Former University of Tennessee linebacker A.J. Johnson, a prospect in this year’s NFL draft, has been indicted in a rape investigation.

Johnson’s attorney, Tom Dillard, confirmed to theKnoxville News Sentinel that the Knox County District Attorney General’s office had informed him of his client’s indictment.

“We’re making plans for him to surrender,” Dillard said.

Johnson and his former Tennessee teammate, cornerback Michael Williams, were accused of rape by a 19-year-old female Tennessee student in November.

Johnson has been invited to the Scouting Combine, where NFL teams will surely have plenty of questions about his off-field actions. Johnson is talented enough to play in the NFL, but there’s a good chance that the 32 teams will decide that he’s not worth the risk.

I don't remember Tony Washington at all.....but that was a disturbing little story.
We will see if Johnson is convicted or not. Probably won't get drafted if this is not resolved by draft time. If he is not convicted someone will pick him up for sure.

Yeah, I remember Washington. He didn't rape his sister, though; they were both underaged at the time, both of them had been badly abused (sexually abused, I might add) and exposed to child pornography at a very young age, and neither of them had a clue that what they did was wrong. And also, the thing about her being mentally-disabled? Not true. This article explains more:

According to the ESPN article, police discovered the incestuous relationship several months after it happened when Caylen was arrested on suspicion of prostitution. When Washington came to the station to get her, he was asked about having sex with her. He didn’t deny it.
“I didn’t know it was illegal,” Washington said in the ESPN article.

never saw anything that said they were sexually abused....just very poor living in bad neighborhoods raised in a one parent home...

as to her intelligence lets just say mentally challenged..I actually wrote Devaney a letter because I followed the story and read his Abilene Christians coach comments about Washington and hoped he might give him a chance as a udfa...he was 16 and she was 15...he was processed as an adult...neither the sharpest knives in the drawer

not sure it matters anymore except suspect AJ Johnson nfl career is also over..as far as him belonging in prison I let the court decide his guilt

He was 9 years old. Too young, he says, to see what he saw. Too small to endure what he endured. Exposure to pornography. Unbidden touching. Sexual misconduct that he stops short of calling abuse. "It was nobody that matters now," he says. Then he adds flatly, "Close relatives."

Sounds a lot like sexual abuse. And yeah, Devaney should have definitely listened to your letter. Washington could have been a much better pick than some of the guys we drafted.

As far as Johnson belonging in prison, they have more than enough on him and his teammate to send them both away for a long time; otherwise, charges would have been dropped.
