I wonder if they thought their D was gassed and needed a breather before letting Mahomes march down the field
They were def gassed, even offense. Chiefs were putting the hammer on them with being physical, even on short 1 yd gains.

So what do you guys think Spags? He was dog shit with us but took out the Patriots once and the Whiners twice. As far as I'm concerned, his time with us is water under the bridge, hahaha.
I agree but wasnt 100% his fault with us.

Spags is a guy who is a great D-coordinator, but should never be let near the HC office other than as as visitor.

The game should not have even went to OT. 4th quarter the Chiefs Pachacco is running it down their throats.
He blasts it down to the 3 yard line with runs under center.
So the Walrus channels his inner McVay and goes to the fucking shotgun down on the goal line right after all that success running it down hill under center.
Throws the ball around, kicks FG.
When are coaches going to learn. Dump runs out of the gun on critical short yardage plays.
They are horrible and almost cost them the Super Bowl.
You can not tell me that RB can not get 3 yards blasting it right in their faces with the momentum of a traditional running play doing it 3 times if that is what it took.
Too many things have to go right on a pass play compared to a run play under center to be successful.
Keep it simple stupid.
Now the Niners can all go grab shovels, go back to SF and clean up all the human shit on the ground.

Should Shanahan have deferred to start OT?

Reading 49’er forums most are upset about that decision.

If Shanny hands the ball of to Mcaffery on their last possession in the red zone, the Niners would be Super Bowl Champs.

Nice job Ratboy.

Post-game radio one on one interview, he talked about his analytics department and the goal was to get the ball 3d to end it.
I guess their analytics said yes no
[edit - hell, just happy how it turned out.]

That’s dumb. You play to score a TD and end it.

Ask the Bills if the toss matters…

But they’re 9er fans, so…
