IMO Ogletree was afraid of contact, always tried to grab and sling guys to the ground. From what I have seen this preseason Littleton, Hager and Kiser are not afraid to put their head/shoulder in there and hit guys.
ILB doesnt look to be as much of a ? as it was percieved to be. And yesterday the OLB rotation looked up to the task. The D should be improved and possibly much improved this year, in Wade I trust.

Ogletree had 10 forced fumbles his first 2 years in the league. Since Alec has had only 2 forced fumbles in his last 3 seasons. If that's not a telling stat, I don't know what is. Ogletree looked so promising to start his career. I don't know what happend to that guy but he definitely lost passion for the game. I was surprised the Rams extened him to that contract.

LB as a whole was a major weakness for the Rams last season. Especially considering how much cap we had tied up in the position. I remember mentioning that I wouldn't be shocked if the Rams purged the unit this off-season. And they did.

Probably had to do with the change of position and responsibilities.

I agree Ogletree's best postion is OLB in a 4-3.

That said, Tree was not the same player he was his first 2 or 3 seasons. Forced fumbles are caused by hard hits and effort plays. A change of positon still shouldn't prevent a LB from being a sound tackler.

I agree that it shouldn't. I think it did for him though. I think the position change got in his head, exposed the fact that he has all the gap integrity of a meth addict's teeth, and he was out of position too much to make solid tackles and think about chopping the ball out when he talked.

I'm not an expert it anything, though, so I could totally be wrong.
