I see that the whiners are staying east since they play the Giant's in the same stadium next week. I thought I had heard that we couldn't stay due to COVID rules of some sort. Maybe they can stay because they are staying at the same place?

No, teams are not allowed to stay anywhere this season. All must fly home immediately after games and can only travel to games the night before. Not sure how the Whiners can.

It might be because they’re playing in the same city/stadium. But I heard the same that teams had to head home, hope the NFL clarifies this rule.

Probably because they are staying in the same accommodations (The Greenbrier I think).

That's what I thought, course after doing some google searches it seems the NFL is just urging NFL teams to do this but not making it mandatory. So I guess Rams are just choosing to not risk being in a hotel petri dish for more than one night?

Play like we did yesterday and we can stay on the moon for all the difference it makes.

Considering circumstances the moon might not be a bad place to stay right now

They could have stayed back east. Problem was that they would be pretty much quarantined to their hotel. Coach talked with the players and it was decided to come home after Philly. Players would rather be with family than be stuck in a hotel room. With our coaches road record I trust his judgement. Sean talked about this in one of last week's press conferences.

This is not what McVay said. He expressly stated that it was his decision to bring the team back to LA between the Philly and Buffalo games. His reasoning was that, with covid restrictions within hotels and also against being able to go outside anywhere from the hotels, staying out in a hotel on the road was more disruptive than going home.

Then he talked about having consulted training experts on Circadian rhythms, and concluding that a really quick turnaround trip-- flight out the night before, get up and play, go right home-- was the best way to go.

So McVay analyzed the whole thing and came up with a plan, as he always does. It worked really well for the Philly game. Now he has three more East Coast trips to try it out further.

I think we have FOUR more.....Buff, DC, Miami and Tampon. They were talking about it yesterday on the telecast. Its borderline unfair. WE travel more in 2 weeks than Pittsburgh does ALL YEAR!

The Rams will be a lab experiment for producing excellent football play from less than 24 hour, quick strike, west to east coast travel turnarounds in the covid era.

that got my attention, so decided to do some quick research. Keep in mind this article was written in June and things have changed since then.

Yeah, they were assuming the Rams were staying on the east coast for the 2 game swing. Now that they're flying back and forth, and we have FIVE east coast games, I wonder if the Rams will rack up the most miles...

I especially like that they go out the night before, wake up, play and then head home.
