Watching Stanford at USC and cant help but notice the turf getting chewed up. I thought that part of the agreement with USC was that there would not be Trojan and Rams home games the same weekend. I know its still early so the field should be close to optimal condition but how many double duty weekends can that natural turf take?

I was under the impression that they weren't going to have the Rams and Trojans play in back to back days but it seems not. The grass was beat up the grounds crew really has their work cut out for them.

Funny thing Dave, I was just saying the exact same thing to the little woman.

You ever played golf from a fixed divot on the fairway? It sucks! I don't like the fact that a pro football team will be playing on what I would consider second tier playing conditions. Doesn't matter how much they roll the field, the grass that was torn up today will not take hold by tomorrow .

My guess is that schedule makers try to offset weeks, but sometimes you can't help it. Part of the game.

Hopefully the storm either misses LA or doesn't make it too bad.

Remembering the same thing. I would think injuries are more likely to happen on a beat up field. Keeping fingers crossed....

Worst day on a grass field has to be better than astro turf covered concrete.

Field will be fine, they have done this before. Not perfect but just fine.....better than playing on a multisport field baseball/football back in the day.

Seems our Rams are second class citizens in the league. I can't seem to see the Patriots or Cowboys being made to play in such field conditions. Why is that do you suppose?

Thats the thing about planting your foot on a 'fixed' dinged up field - it's when knee injuries happen - I see it all the time in rugby over here in Wales...

but I'd rather play on grass on any given day, astro turf isn't natural, it doesn't have the same give...

Not sure what you're implying, Rams ownership chose these playing conditions as a byproduct of the move, it wasn't forced on them.

It's only temporary until the new stadium is built in a few years anyway.

There are other places they could play in So Cal until the new stadium is ready.
Heck, they could play in San Diego haha.
