In today’s world, information is readily available and the media is so reactionary that there is no hiding or ignoring the chatter about national perception on which team is considered on the rise and which team is struggling. Case in point, Heath Evans gave a balanced perspective on this upcoming game. Ram fans were offended. Earl Thomas disagreed. The Seahawks are being told by the media they have to man up or admit the Rams have taken their place atop the division.

What scares me is that a similar perception preceded the Niner game and continues even though they played us tough through the fourth quarter. And that is with what most consider a Niner organization that is completely starting over.

My point is that often NFL games come down to the bounce of a ball on a turnover, a couple questionable penalties, or which coach is able to outscheme the other for explosive plays.

This game could be a blowout by the Rams and signal the kind of changing of the guard like the Niner game in ‘99. Or it could be the kind of struggle the Bucs gave the vaunted GSOT in the NFC Championship game we barely survived (thanks Ricky Proehl). Heck, even that Niner game saw them score 17 points in the first half and still in the game though nearly everything went our way.

Psychology though, today’s media access has thrown down the gauntlet on the Seahawks and you can bet we get all they have to give...as though it were their Super Bowl like we have done to them during the Fisher tenure. We may be a better team, but unless Brockers, Quinn, and Donald destroy what should be a very weak OLine of the Hawks and Goff doesn’t press too much and produce turnovers, we could be looking at 3-2 with the Hawks holding the advantage.

Count me nervous and cautiously optimistic

Interesting you wrote this. I was thinking this morning; this game has a similar vibe to that day.

The Rams are on a 2-0 streak when I don't make a game score prediction. I've been reading here at ROD both teams fans predictions and will not make a prediction. I expect the Hags to ratchet it up a couple of notches. The Rams still have a lot of Fisher holdovers that understand the intensity of this game. I'm sure the new veterans and rookies are up to speed on what to expect. Confidence is high on the Rams side as it should be from both players and fans. All I'm sure about is that this will be a physical game up for grabs just like the recent past.

Oh you can bet your ass the Hawks will be dialing it up for this game. As early in the season as it is, this game has division title written all over it IMO.

Here's to hoping the RAMS realize that also :cheers::cheers:

There are 6 keys to making the playoff's. 3 away games, 3 home games and all of them division games. Yes, this game absolutely has divisional title ^^ written all over it!

I expect this game to have a playoff feel to it. The Seachickens can not be happy with all the media love the Rams are gaining. But the fact of the matter is the Rams are the team with the momentum and that is huge in games like this. It will be a hard fought game, but in the end the younger better team will win.

All NFC West division games are intense, tight games. We need a defensive intensity that we haven't yet shown to pull this one out. There will be no blowout today, it's going to be tooth and nail.

If we go up early by two scores, we could blow them out. Tire their defense out, and let Gurley do Gurley in the 4th

Couple of “if’s” that could make this a big Ram win. By that I mean a 10+ point Ram win.

Ram OL. If they can impose their will, the playmakers will have a field day. Pretty much everything will then fall into place. Don’t give a damn that it’s the Seahawk D that we’re talking about. McVay’s too smart and creative and Goff’s surrounded with weapons everywhere.

The other “if” is whether Wade has finally got his D playing his system and on the same page together. That second half vs Dallas was impressive. But if not, this could get ugly for the Rams in a hurry.

Should be a fun game to watch and the stakes couldn’t be much higher for a week 5 game, huh?

I'm only nervous because we have a new set of coaches with different ways of approaching things. Yes, these new coaches have had success in the past. However, this game is all about match-ups, and Fisher just seemed to have the Seahawks' number.

With that said, throw caution to the wind! Drink up and enjoy the rollercoaster ride that's about to begin!

I think our new coaches make me less nervous than what most coaches would. Players can see thru BS--our coaches are the real deal.

I agree on the offensive side. I actually believe they will convert 3rd downs finally.

Number 1. The experience we fans have/get is not what the players are going through. I love all of the enthusiasm before games, but in reality, we can barely affect these games. It comes down to strategy and execution and having the ability to make your own "luck". We ride along on this roller coaster w/ our team. But they are the ones that make it happen. Now that doesn't mean we don't live and die w/ every snap. It just means we are along for the ride. That been said. I think Sean McVay is the greatest thing that's happened to the Rams since Marshall was here. If there's a way....I believe he will find it.
Go get them guys. Shut the Squawks up.

Good post Bom. Especially this part. It is what gives me quiet confidence about this team.

:rant:Ok. Maybe not so quiet, whatever!!

We get to say it again for different reasons but next week is the most important game of the year. Have to see how this team responds to adversity against a tough opponent on the road. The Hawks showed the Jags a good game plan to slow this offense. Let’s see how McVay adjusts.

This team is growing before our eyes but visions of ‘99 got the best of us fans. Admit it, in the first quarter we were all feeling it. But THIS team is taking the harder path. I still think the result, in spite of this loss, is similar as we build toward a New dynasty.
