We had an excellent thread on the legendary Pink Floyd. Now it’s time to pay tribute to everyone’s favorite Canadian power trio - Rush

IMG_0492.jpeg

It’s amazing Rush lasted 40+ years producing great rock n’ roll music from beginning to the end. Not many bands can match their longevity.

I have to admit my favorite Rush albums and songs are primarily from their early days such as 2112, Fly By Night, Hemispheres (to name a few).

Had a chance to go a Rush concert long time ago and I backed out of it at the last moment. I regret that decision to this day.

Now it’s your turn to pay tribute and post anything Rush!

Definitely my favorite band of the 80s barely edging out Van Halen, eh. Everyone talks about drum God Pearty, but Getty Lee is also an underrated bassist.

Agreed Geddy Lee was indeed a underrated musician. He was performing triple duty too with the keyboards, bass guitar and vocals.

This was the first song by Rush that blew me away. The voice of the lead singer is so unique and the guitar playing, which I thought were synthesizers, washes over you. I rejected listening to Rush in 1980 because a group of guys I was forced to hang around with (Masonic group) loved Rush. Anyway, this song was my favorite by them.

Umm...Geddy is playing the synthesizer. So what group didn't want you listening to Rush?

My Dad thought when I was 15 yrs old that I had to be part of a MAsonic club called DeMolay. I hated it and the older kids, who I didn't like too much were Rush fans, which initially turned me off to them....

mine was 1982 in New Haven Ct.... think it was the Signals tour.

They would always play 2 dates in Connecticut back then, one at the New Haven Coliseum and another at Hartford Civic Center... sometime it was the next day, or sometimes it was a month later.

That was a good year and concert tour. In LA we always had multiple dates.
