The Rams needed it more than ever. They had a lot of holes to fill.

The Seahawks pulled off a very good class last year and it had instant results. They did back when they assembled the LoB too.

Most top teams have one or two great drafts that put them in the top ten.

Let's hope that McSnead uses the same analytics as last year and accomplishes the same results next year.

I don’t recall seeing the TT-H holding. Was it really holding?

The guy consistently gets flagged for holding going back to college, in preseason, etc... so my guess is it was correct.

Fuller, I don't know man. I would rather see JJ in there. Fuller can respond a bit slow. Like a few plays around the goaline. The 3rd down TD to the TE for example.

After the game, McVay gave shout out to Fuller for causing that key fumble we recovered early.

With the lack of TOs we've been generating, that goes into the calculation I would think.

And I wonder if JJ has lost a step?

I haven't rewatched the game...but I'll say this. Are we forgetting Boom isn't 100? That guy played well considering. Most of the pressures of Stafford were coming up the middle...NOT from the left side. Boom isn't great, but he's versatile and consistent. To have that deep bruise and hold up as he did says something. I think Jackson is better...but I don't get the knock on Boom. It reminds me if how folks were on Saffold.

Next. Rivers was great! That kid runs hard and was critical. He was one I thought McVay needed to get underneath out of the backfield. Maybe that happens more next week.

We don't need to talk about Stafford...DUDE IS A GAMER ...PERIOD!!!

I hated that they took away this momentum changing play by Donald with a penalty on Tomlinson #6. This sequence just goes to show the impact that AD had on the game that didn't show up on the stat sheet.

What’s really eye opening is there is not another Ram anywhere near Richardson. One man prevailed even though he is double/triplex teamed regularly.

I read an analysis article about it in the super bowl year. The Rams actually do well with the draft picks they have.

Durant is playing the Star position. I don’t think it suits his skillset at all. He’s supposedly helping to train TT-H at that position. But I don’t think either has the size to pull it off. I wish they had retained Troy Hill for another season. He’s cheap, taller and knows the position. He wasn’t great but he’s better than what they’ve got. They could ease Durant TT-H into the role if they had a veteran in the rotation too. Remember that even Ramsey didn’t look his dominant self playing Star. I’m beginning to wonder if Staley’s concepts need a modification. The Chargers defense gives up points and maybe it puts too much responsibility onto one guy.

Agree 100%. I remember having reservations when they first announced Durant would be playing the Star position. That position seems to call for a real physical player and would take a good cover corner like Durant away from his strengths. The star took Ramsey away from some of his strengths but he was physical enough to still make plays in that role. Durant just seems to disappear in the role.

That's a fair take Woodie. I think with Boom it is simply the disappointment we've had from him in the past, and sometimes players improve while the fan base maybe takes time to adjust to the improvement.

I actually acknowledged that he can play tackle in that season prior to us paying him and I was behind paying him. But I feel like he's burned us over and over by missing time. Either way though he has been money this season and deserves the accolades.

We are not talking about the same thing. If you think the Rams have drafts like the 2023 draft every year then I must be Rumplestiltskin. It’s unusual to have so many picks in one draft that are so successful, especially early on. Getting a very good starter and then some decent position fillers is a normal draft for most teams. Landing 5+ is unusual success.

If that article was referring to Jefferson, Akers, Rapp, Kupp and Gaines the I’d say is a 2 out of five for early picks, and Kupp was a third and Gaines was a fourth. Second round has been a weak spot imo, until this last draft.

Now if they are referring to value as trading picks for proven talent then I’d totally agree.

The description when he was drafted was that he was raw and had the physical tools to become the successor to Whitworth. In that role he has done a average job. Maybe the expectation was too high and we should take scouting reports and coachspeak less seriously.

Joe has played better at right guard, so he was likely miscast as a starter at OLT. Where he is sometimes slow to react to speed, gets pushed back by bullrushers and doesn’t stay engaged when run blocking (easy to shed).

Is he horrible? No. Has he improved yes. He has strung some good games together at OLT. His injuries and versatility may be best suited for him to be a backup. A top level backup at that, since most of the league struggles to find quality depth.

With a 35 year old QB who lacks mobility more reliable Left Tackle play is needed though.

Btw I was never hard on Saffold and when he found his best position at guard he was consistently a better player than Joe. Maybe both were originally miscast.

Were their worse starters than Joe in recent years? Yes, by far. Tim Barnes, Austin Blythe.and Greg Robinson come to mind.

Anybody comparing Noteboom to Saffold is off their rocker. Saffold was a rock solid stud for us at guard. Noteboom needs to just go one game without getting nicked up. I honestly think the only reason he is playing is because of his salary. Dotson should be at guard and Jackson at LT. Noteboom is a backup thanks to his unreliability. Dude gets injured way too much.

I like Noteboom as trade bait if/when some play-off bound team loses an OT prior to the deadline. Of course, most of this thinking depends on A. Jackson's health and how McVay is feeling about the developmental progress of McClendon and Arcuri for swing duty. I'm favoring our 2024 1'st round draft pick to be our LT of the future, with A. Jackson becoming a competitor for the starting RG role next season should we lose both Dotson & Anchrum to free agency following this season. Ultimately, Jackson could play a key swing role at OT/OG and train to become Havenstein's eventual replacement at RT.
