You guys are boring as hell lol. When you pick a player, throw out some highlights, explain the rationale behind adding him, why he fits your team, etc. All of this, "we choose player x" next.

Or lots of holes/needs. I'd say it could be any of the three or it could just be a myriad of other reasons (herd mentality?) but why isn't all that important compared to the fact that it exists. Us old farts use all our accumulated wisdom to take advantage of these opportunities. Or we just step into it. :LOL:
Personally, I've always been called an ' Opportunist'!!(y):snicker::heh::shades::cheers:

Thanks for paying attention. :LOL: I was going to check my work but I had to stop and make myself a cup of coffee. Now that I've made it, I feel like going back to sleep. :sleepz: Do I remember correctly that you're under the weather too? I probably caught my cold from you.:unsure::coffee:

With the 40th pick, the Carolina Panthers select:

Takkarist McKinley - DE - UCLA

@OldSchool is on the clock with the Bengals.@TheDYVKX is on deck...
Really nice pick! McKinley had a great combine showing;
* 4.59 - 40
* 1.67 - 10 Yard split time.
* Benched 24x
* 33.0 vert.
* 122.0 Broad jump.
* 4.62 in the short shuttle
* 7.48 in the 3-cone drill.
A really good player, probably best at OLB in the pro's!

Nice pick, maybe a little surprising at this point! But he is the Best OG on the Board! He had a 30.0 vert. and a 114.0 Broad jump at the combine, not too shabby!!(y);):D

If you had washed your hands before using your keyboard we wouldn't be having this conversation. :LOL: If it makes you feel any better, I still have 6-8" of snow on my lawn. :sadwalk:

Hey @DaveFan'51 I know what you're like with your SPARQ knowledge - who had the highest score this year out of the draftees??
To the best of my knowledge here are the TOP 3!!
* CB - Kevin King - Washington had a 142.8
* WR - Robert Davis - Georgia State - 141.5
And
* CB - Fabian Moreau - had a 140.2
And none of them have been Drafted yet!! Hint! Hint!(y);):D

Edit Note:Watch now I will probably start a run on CB's and WR's!! And By the way TJ Watt, who I picked at #39 had a 140.4 Sparq!!

Sorry guys, I work nights so I only just now woke up. I'll have my pick in shortly, unless someone wants to trade up.

With the 42nd selection in the 2017 ROD Mock Draft....the Miami Dolphins select Derek Rivers, DE, Youngstown State.
rivers-all-mvfc.jpg

One of my favorite pass rushers in this draft, I couldn't pass him up. Some have him projected as a first round pick, some a third round pick. I'll split the difference here.

Why I like him: Rivers is a very athletic pass rusher who may be a little undersized, but he can play. He's a polished player despite his small school status, and has violent hands with numerous pass rush moves including a strong rip, swim, and a bull rush. He has the flexibility to bend the edge and turn the corner, and he's a sound run defender. He has immense upside as a player, and I think he can be a Vic Beasley type talent and a consistent 10+ sack a year player.

How he fits: Right now Rivers will play as a rotational pass rusher for the Dolphins, mostly coming in on 3rd downs where he can make plays. I predict our NASCAR package will be an exceptional success. Wake and Rivers on the outside, Hayes and Suh/Westbrooks on the inside should shine here. However, this pick is really for the future. I expect Rivers to add weight, and if he can get to 255-260 I believe he can be an every down player in our Wide 9 system where he doesn't have extended run responsibilities against large tackles. He's the eventual replacement of Cameron Wake, who doesn't have long left and should be a perfect mentor for a young pass rusher.

You can never have too many pass rushers when you are playing in the same division as Tom Brady. The more the merrier.

Signature game:
View: https://youtu.be/H3fZKiuhjp8

This game showed his athleticism, his ability to make plays in both the run and pass game, with a variety of different moves used, against quality competition. His ceiling is sky high.

I'd venture the run on WRs is coming very very soon and it might be a long run at that.
