AFC - Patrick Mahomes, Josh Allen, Joe Burrow, Justin Herbert, Trevor Lawrence (I don't think Aaron Rodgers is as good right now)

NFC - Matthew goddamn Stafford, Jalen Hurts, Kirk Cousins, Jared Goff, Justin Fields...yes Justin Fields.

Lol Goff is waaay better than Cousins.
I have no problem ranking him higher, but I am always shocked when I look at Cousins career statline…

7 of his last 8 seasons >4,000yds passing and he is always right around 100 passer rating.

So, I don’t know if I’d call Goff way better, yet.

Cousin’s has had a damn good career.

The problem with cousins is the same with Herbert. They both just don't win big games for whatever reason.

Jared Goff is a consistently underrated QB. How many of the QBs rated above him have acturally carried their bad offenses? Jared carried the 2019 Rams behind a pathetic OL to a winning record missing the playoffs because of a missed Zuerlein FG. The same thing happened to him last year. Bad play in the secondary and missed kicks kept the Lions out of the playoffs, not Goff. Murray hasn't done shit yet he's rated over Goff by many. Geno Smith only had one really good year, which was last year. Goff is better than Prescott as well. Who would you rather have, Smith, Prescott or Cousins? Since he's been in Detroit, Goff has not turned the ball over like he did in LA proving what I've always contended about Goff is that in the right scheme he's an excellent QB. Jared's level of play proves he's a tier one QB. Geno Smith has yet to prove he is. The same can be said about Cousins and Prescott.

The difference between Goff and Stafford is that Matt is a risk taker, i.e. gunslinger. Jared will take what you give him making him more consistent. If you give him the deep shot Goff is capable of taking it as we saw in 2018. Too many of Stafford's INTs happened when he ignored an open option and forced the pass.

The Rams didn't make a mistake in Goff. Stafford is simply a better fit for McVay. Holmes knows he has a franchise QB in Goff as do the Rams with Stafford. Rarely are trades win win, but the Stafford/Goff trade elevated both teams.

Top four are AFC I think...

Mahomey
Allen
Burrows
Rodgers

Fifth is probably gonna be Lawrence vs Herbert vs Hurts for this season.

The disparity in the conferences is significant right now for sure.

There are a lot of people that think Matthew Stafford is old and washed up, one year from a great Super Bowl performance. It’s hard to believe that people would ever think such a thing.

If 9 is healthy and motivated I am sure he'll be among that top group but I am worried about his age, mileage, and whether he's gonna be fully back. So no reason to stick him up there.

He's clutch as F though when he's healthy no doubt about it.
