What’s the worst? “Imagine” ໋by John Lennon?
I have no problem with your disagreement. I wouldn’t say that Imagine is a bad song by any stretch. But yes, you’re correct it’s John Lennon preaching his ideals. This Seger song was overplayed. It was at least a good song, whereas “Imagine” was a naive, foolish creed, way overhyped and nauseating from the start.
Edit: I know this is just my opinion. Some people probably love this insipid self-important song.![]()
Sounds very reasonable, my friend.I have no problem with your disagreement. I wouldn’t say that Imagine is a bad song by any stretch. But yes, you’re correct it’s John Lennon preaching his ideals.
For starters all of Train’s catalog is much worse. You could classify Taylor Swift’s attempt to fit pop into “country” in that category as well.
Fast -forward to today. Seger’s hit and the message is outdated. Yes we like rock n roll. But I wouldn’t classify that song out of the pop genre. His song speaks to the masses as many people enjoy rock ‘n roll, but his old hit is a relic that doesn’t speak to my generation and to those after mine.
John Lennon, post Beatles, with rare exception, sucked hind tit. What’s the worst? “Imagine” ໋by John Lennon?
