I was talking with my wife earlier about the ridiculous health run I've had over the last few year. And talking about the worst pain I had had.

It came down to the week I had went to Kansas for work for a week. When I got back, the night I got back actually. I started feeling really bad pain in my balls and Johnson. LOL the pain moved up to thr public area and to my lower abdomen.

The next morning I couldn't get out of bed. My wife was trying to make me go to the hospital. So, to prove I was fine I threw her on the bed and gave her a go. Afterwards I was doubled over in pain. I finally decided I needed to go. The pain in my nuts was coming in waves like what I assume contractions are like for a woman in labor.

She takes me to the ER that is 30 miles away btw. With every minor bump in the road I was cussing. I get there and they immediately gave me fentanyl. Once I relaxed they gave me a scan. The dye made me vomit all over like a drunk. They came back and said I have diverticulitis and that I perforated my colon and was septic. I was in the hospital for 3 nights and 4 days. On a constant drip of antibiotics and fentanyl every couple hours. The shit was insanely painful. But, I was able to avoid surgery and the colon healed on its own.

To compare pain. I've broken both ankles a combined 5 times. Including breaking off the end of my tibia...I think that's the bone....and the pain isn't even remotely close to that pain I felt in my ball bag. Lol

That's sounds horrible.

I've never had them, but I've heard kidney stones can be pretty painful.

I've known a few folks who got them and they were heavy coffee drinkers. Talking morning, noon and cup before bed. Can you still get stones with hydrating well?

I've never had them, but I've heard kidney stones can be pretty painful.

I had a kidney stone at age 20, my doctor told me for a man the pain was the equivalent to a woman giving birth. Obviously I can't say whether that is true or not, but it was intense enough to drop me to the floor doubled up at the hospital door before nurses arrived. This was back in 1972 and my stone was too large to pass, requiring surgery, and before going under I asked the doctor to save it for me so I could mount it in a ring. The doctor who operated was the same guy who removed LBJ's kidney stone, and was a bit of a butcher based on the scar he left me, and no, I didn't get the stone back. This was the only operation i've ever had thank goodness, and other than the pain, the only thing I remember was being asked to count backwards from 10 for the anesthesiologist, ... I think I made it to 8.
I had been a vegetarian for about 3 years at the time and was told my diet likely led to my condition, so needless to say, that changed the very moment I checked out. Never had a medical issue since ...

Repeat share from while ago. I have portal vein & aorta artery thrombosis (blood clots) 7 years ago. No blood flow in my body from the lungs down. All my organs shut down from no blood flow.

I thought I had the flu from the aches, nausea, and pain. Four days of excruciating pain, on a 10 for 3 of those days.

After finally going to the ER on day 4. I had 4 surgeries, a week in a coma, 31 days in the hospital and 7 months at home on a wound vac for a 15” open wound on my stomach.

All I can say is that I know pain. I became acquainted with it for almost a year. Everyone handles it differently, so I never begrudge another person’s pain tolerance. I used to think it was a badge honor. Now I slow down a bit when one of my clots starts to hurt.

If any of you watch UFC, Chris Weidman fractured his Fibula & Tibia kicking his opponent. Gruesome break, if your not grossed out look it up. I’ve broken bones, but never like he did.

I've had some terrible headaches related to uneven bone growth in my face. I'm talking about literally hearing cracking noises. The pressure would build up kind of like plate tectonics and then things would have to give. It stopped when I stopped growing.

The pain from my neck surgery was pretty bad too. 13 hours of surgery having my head supported with rods from c1 to c4 and bent at a 45 degree angle. That is probably the worst one for me.

I had kidney stones twice. It was a different kind of pain from my neck surgery. I'd take the stones if I had to choose.

Got hit by a car on my bicyle. Landed on my back. Compression fracture of the 1st and 2nd lumbar vertebrae. The pain was so intense in the first 30 seconds, and then I think I went into shock. The only thing I could think of was that I couldn't move my legs. (This lasted for few days) Also lost 3/4 of an inch of height. I was 23. The next thing that came close was last November when I had COVID. Every injury I ever suffered came back at about 80% of the pain level all at the same time. Head, back, shoulders, right knee, right foot, left ankle, Middle finger of my right hand, ribs on both sides. All hurting at the same time. And pain meds only made it worse.

I'll add another. I've passed a kidney stone and it didnt touch the battle with Gout that I had. I assume everyone is different. Gout was so bad I couldn't even let a sheet touch it.

I've never had it, but I've heard cellulitis and shingles are up there for pain.

I had a suicide attempt off a bridge. Broke L4 and L5 vertebrae, flayed out out my right hip, crushed the bones in my right heel, and tore several ligaments in my legs. The surgery wasn't horrible (even though I was in agony) compared to the recovery. I remember screaming in agony for oxy one night because morphine alone wasn't enough.

I had a pretty good sized cut on my cornea which I know doesn't sound bad but it was the worst pain I've ever had. What made it so bad was when my eye would water(which was constantly) it would get in the cut and burn like hell.

Sounds like you're well hydrated, gotta be painful and frustrating when there's not really much else you can do.
