As a St. Louis Ram? I remember seeing him on the roster and waiting and waiting to see what we had in this unknown QB. Then ... finally in the last game of the season he finally got a few garbage time snaps. Nothing spectacular, but I was still intrigued to see more of him.

TBH I didn't really pay attention to him full board until that first 99' San Fran game when we got that monkey off our backs!

What I do remember is being on the phone with my stoner buddy Chris and we were watching that pre-season game and Trent and Marshall and the entire team was clicking and we were mentioning to each other that this might be a good year - and as soon as we said that Trent went down with that season ending injury!

We as Ram fans thought we had cursed the team by just mentioning the possibility of having a great season - then I remember us instantly trying to figure out who the backup QB was. Neither of us was too happy to see Kurt Warner - we were so bummed. We thought our season was over - so cause of the Fog of Ramfandom that had yet to be lifted from my eyes, I don't remember anything other than disappointment when seeing Kurt play for the first time

But man was that the greatest season ever!!!!!

That first game against Baltimore or Atlanta where we just destroyed them me and my buddy really got that feeling Kurt was the man!!!

Same experience except not stoned... a lot.

Vegas dialed them in at 200-1 to win the SB.

Then they went freaking off!

True story.

My buddy and I (A Seahawk fan) used to ride our Harleys ro Reno every year to put bets down on our teams. I always put down $25 to win the NFC and $25 down to win the SB. The odds were 150-1 to win the NFC and 200-1 to win the SB ..... And that year .... I passed on going with him .... :notworthy:  :censored:

I remember thinking "Curt Warner? Isn't he a running back for the seahawks?" Haha, now nobody hardly remembers THAT Warner.

His first action was pretty obscure. It was late in the 4th Qrt. at Candlestick and Bono and Banks were toast. Getting our asses kicked. When I hear them come back from a commercial and say that Kurt Warner had entered the game .... I was both bummed, yet intrigued. He didn't do much. He was rattled ... but ... .he kept showing excitement to be out there.

The next yr ... i was glad to see he made the team ... but after TG went down, I must admit ... I was throwing in the towel. Not to mention that being a Rams Homer FFB player... I had Trent green, Marshall Faulk and Isaac Bruce on my team. I had to scramble to find a new QB after that game and well .... only "starter" still available was .... Kurt Warner. The rest is history!

I remember the first drive against Baltimore. I swear it took an entire quarter and ended in 6.

That was my first reaction too! I remember thinking to myself that someone had to be joking around by suggesting the Rams go get Curt Warner to play QB for them!

That year 99 I was on the road almost 24/7 sometimes being in 5 different cities or towns in southwestern and central Missouri a week. Living in my car and motels for my job. So sadly I missed many of the games. Catching them on radio or the next day thru the news. But what I remember the most was as the season progressed the Rams mania that swept the state. Every city or town no matter the size had Go Rams! everywhere. For a lifelong Rams fan it was a little slice of heaven. Remembering just a few years earlier I had gone into a large mall to buy a Rams jacket only to be told they had none. Just no call for them the salesperson said. Kurt will always be my hero.

True story; my first wife and I were in Macomb and sat in the bleachers talking to Brenda. Truthfully, my wife did the talking. She told us about arena football... Etc.

My wife asked about him (Kurt) and I said he probably won't make the team.

Later we met them at the local Mexican restaurant and Brenda introduced us to Kurt. Pure class on her part.

I felt like a stalker and said "hi" but not much else.

The rest is history. Dude was lights out.

I remember. He wore number 10. He wasn't that great. Little did I know I was watching a hall of fame QB. While Bulger was a very good QB I wonder how the fortunes of our franchise would have changed had we kept Kurt.
