Bummer got faith in Noteboom but still stinks. Even if Jensen and Wirfs go no way will they be 100%.

Didn’t see much of a drop off from Whitworth to Noteboom. I think rotating those two will definitely help the O-line with familiarity and fresh legs

It's definitely a contract tryout for Boom. If he performs, we gotta pay him to stay.

Andrew Whitworth, Taylor Rapp won't play vs. Buccaneers on Sunday

For the second week in a row, the Los Angeles Rams won’t have Taylor Rapp in the secondary. Sean McVay said Friday that he won’t play against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday as he continues to recover from a concussion suffered in Week 18.
Likewise, Andrew Whitworth has also been ruled out. He injured his knee and ankle in the Rams’ wild-card win over the Cardinals, forcing him to miss most of the game. The injury occurred on the first offensive play and although he was able to return, he didn’t take the field in the second half.

This is disappointing news for the Rams as they gear up to face an outstanding Buccaneers pass rush. Joe Noteboom has played well when asked to step in for Whitworth the last two years, but Whitworth’s leadership and experience are invaluable in a game like this.
Not to mention, Whitworth has been excellent in pass protection, allowing just 16 pressures all season. He has a pass-blocking grade of 90.2 at Pro Football Focus, considerably better than Noteboom’s score of 76.0.

While I would love to have a healthy Whit starting, Boom did just fine against the Bucs last year. He's done well this year as well in those instances he's been called upon. I have confidence in him.

So Rapp must have some serious issues from the concussion he suffered.

I think the NFL just does a shameful job with concussions and brain injuries, in general. Much of which has been well documented.

Rapp's injury status is more in line with what one should normally expect, IMO.

In hockey, concussions often keep players out for months on end. And sometimes concussions end careers because the post-concussion symptoms cannot be shaken by the player.

Somehow, in the NFL, concussions are typically 1-2 week injuries, at the most, except for players with unique histories (e.g. Jordan Reed).

It makes you wonder...

Well I somewhat expected Whit to be out, but did certainly expect Rapp back. Not a huge drop off to Boom honestly IMO. And actually, I'd rather see Burgess in there then Rapp myself (not sure who they would have moved out of lineup). I think Burgess has superior coverage skills to either Scott or Rapp, and we will need them Sunday.

Really bummed that Whit going to miss this game. Locking down that side throughout the playoffs and SB would be the ultimate end to his career.

I think Boom will do a fine job in his place but might give Whit pause about retirement and drive up the $$$ for retaining Boom.

Happy this is one injury we might be able to sustain with little drop off.
