Bengals coach chuckles at Whitworth reunion talk
Bengals coach Zac Taylor chuckled at the idea of luring Andrew Whitworth, who retired after last season, out of broadcasting to fill the Bengals' void at right tackle.
This was from a week or so ago. He shoots down playing again, but this was before Collins injury.
He looks like he still has a lot of his playing weight on, IMO.

Yeah that's the big obstacle, he is still under contract with the Rams. The only way he could join Bengals is if the Rams, out of the kindness of their hearts, cut Whitworth once he unretired essentially. Since he is a veteran of considerable age he wouldn't hit waivers and would be free to sign with whoever. The Rams have been known to be overly generous to players compared to other teams so I wouldn't say never but I just don't see that happening.
It is a shame they couldn't trade him because I'd love some draft picks for him to play a few games with the Bengals. But unfortunately that's not how it works.
