Mine was a 67 midnight blue Mustang.
Every car since has been slightly worse. Working my way toward a bus pass.

Look at that hood....could time 40 yard sprints on that thing.
Loved that car, man. The back (and front) seat was like a couch.
Defiled that thing in high school. DEFILED it.

1972 Mazda RX2 Coupe

The car was a Rip van Winkle sleeper. Particularly after I figured out how to eliminate the emission control crapola and disable the rev limiter. The car would hang with most V8 cars. It was pretty fast. I found a problem with the speed though. At 135, the front end started to fly rendering any steering input moot. After the suspension mods, which were very much needed as the car handled like crap, the car was a ton of fun to drive. Much safer too!

Obviously, I didn't have the furniture space interior of the typical tuna crushers driven by my contemporaries. The bucket seats reclined but not quite enough. I "reengineered" the seat back inclination mechanism of the passenger side seat so it reclined to a horizontal position. Problem solved! The legroom between the seat and the firewall ended up being perfect for my 6'2" frame without further mods. And I do mean perfect!:yess::banana:

My dad died when I was 16 with me being a junior in high school. I had used my grandfathers 1960 Mercury Comet just a few weeks prior to get my license after taking a Drivers Ed. class in H.S.
I inherited dad's 1959 MGA in the summer of 1969 because no one else in the family could drive a stick shift. It was a cool car and would max out at 120 MPH. Of course, I also wore his English style driving cap even though my hair length reached near the bottom of my back.

That's one of the worst possible ways to get a car. Awesome car though!

‘61 Ford Galaxy. It was a hand me down from my parents. 352 V8 coupe. Mine had whitewalls and all I could afford were retreads.

Actual picture of it all though about ten years before I owned it. Loved my 83 Olds.

My second car, all though not an actual pic of it but the exact same version and color. Went through 3 transmissions on that damn Ford. But it was fun to drive the 5.0 when it ran at least.

Ha. Drivers Ed. I had been driving since I was 13 years old. My mom, right or wrong, used to let me drive all the time, so I figured that class would be an easy A. Wrong. The teacher was also the PE teacher, and he was a dick. A sadist. That son-of-a-bitch gave us homework every night. Including having to make posters of public service announcements on the dangers of impaired driving. But at least the class was outside by the parking lot. And Little did he know that me and my buddy Ronnie used to get high in his car before class. So we we're actually impaired throughout the whole course.

Good times.

In my minds eye, it was a 1978 Ferrari 308 GTSi. Well I had the model anyway.

In actuality it was an 82 Toyota 4x4 pickup. Beige. 5 speed. 1 year old truck. I was 16. Great times!
