Debating with friends over cold beers at Alpine Village over which teams will turn it around and which teams will fall on their face. Lots of different opinions. Thought I'd start a thread and get some ROD posters opinions. I know its early and team rosters are far from set, but here's my "Risers & Fallers".

AFC

Faller-- KC Chiefs are going to be lucky to go 8-8 after a 12-4 season. Losing two of their best playmakers and still a lousy defense.

Riser-- Oakland Raiders. Gruden will have this team ready this year. Way better than their crappy 4-12.

NFC
saints ain
Faller-- NO Saints. They had a lot of luck and calls go their way last season and Brees is getting old. Saints ain't going to win 13 again. And I just hate Peyton.

Riser--- Detroit Lions. I think Lions finally make a run for the division. Good draft and FA pickups. way better than 6-10.

Risers:

Browns - I don't know if I'm drinking the koolaid, but they do look stronger than a 7 win team.

Raiders - Should be better than 4 wins, but I'm not sure they beat 7.

Packers - Hard to see Aaron Rogers and the Pack finishing with 6 wins again.

Fallers:

New Orleans - Just because. Payton may break a finger nail and lose his in-game composure... again.

Bears - I think their division will be stronger this year, so slipping back from 12 wins sounds very likely to me.

Ravens - After 10 wins in 2019... Browns, Steelers, and Bengals all seem poised to improve in 2020. The Ravens don't strike me as 10-win good.

It is a little too early to tell, staying healthy and out of trouble are always key factors in a teams success.

NFC Fallers:
Frisco Niners: Bosa is hurt, Front office dissension between Lynch and Shanny, combined with overrated FA bust in Jimmy G.....Everyone's fired by season's end, with glorious pics of Richard Sherman crying

Saints: Old Brees and negative karma from being such whiny baby losers....Peyton leaves to coach Cowgirls, and the Saints move to San Antonio.

AFC Risers
Cleveland Browns:man, it can't get much worse....Gotta get better, right?

Thanks for reading my unbiased predictions....

The Browns are never stronger than a 7 win team.

From a mental standpoint, i'd imagine the Saints are in a big ass hurry to waltz thru the regular season just to get back to the NFCC and win that game.

It doesn't work that way unless you're the Patriots.

I am not a Mayfield fan but the Browns are intriguing. After losing to KC last year - the Browns went on a roll. They should be improved from last year on both sides of the ball but somehow I don't see them winning more than 9-10 games. 10-6 and a good chance in making the playoffs would be good for Cleveland and the NFL.

Well.... With Peyton sequestering himself the week after the NFCCG to binge on Netflix and ice cream... I really expect the Aints to shit the bead this year. I forsee the Falcons taking the division.

The Rams will rise - and win the Super Bowl.

And yes, the Saints will decline, as it should be.

1) is there gonna be anybody worse than zona? Rookie HC+rookie QB (undersized with a bad OL and an icon in the twilight of his career as your best weapon)=a team to make $$ betting against.
2) skins are in trouble, mostly because the career threatening injury to smith. They had to spend resources on not 1, but 2 QBs. Just think, they could've challenged the cowboys last season if it had not been for injuries. I don't think they're likely to do much now.

3) keep an eye out for the lions. Patricia is in his 2nd season as HC and, by most accounts, the lions have had a good off-season improving the roster. That division is ripe.

Rogers has been exposed and he's gonna show it when he tells his rookie HC what's what. No weapons. Up and down OL.

I'm still not convinced trubinsky is anything and the vikes have missed their brief window. Remember when that defense was what the bears D was last year? No more.

4) fluck the browns. I was all in on them becoming something/anything, but they have already become too big for their britches...w/o accomplishing ANYTHING!!
They are currently the nfl's version of the kardashians.
I have hope we spank them good and hard.

5) chiefs are in trouble too. It is a lot to replace when you lose 2/3 of the football equivalent of the "triangle".

6) those flucking seahawks. Don't take them lightly. That little punk of a QB is STILL underrated...by most. The Rams have historically altered his career #s, but you can never count out wilson.

7) I made $$ betting against the Steelers last year I'm gonna make $$ betting ON the Steelers this year.
Seriously, you think they're gonna make it that easy for the browns?

Browns locker room is a powder keg. A couple of losses in a row and it will explode. :fuelfire::headexplosion:

I still like the Browns even with Kitchens as a first time Head Coach...I don't agree with many on the Oakland Raiders, IMO, they are still the bottom of the AFC West.

So teams on the rise...
  1. Cleveland Browns...Too much talent and they play Cincinnati twice.
  2. Tampa Bay Buccaneers....Bruce Arians is back and Bucs will be much better
  3. Jacksonville Jaguars...Tough division, but I'm counting on a Texan decline
I did not include playoff teams in this as Chris Ballard has done a masterful job rebuilding the Indianpolis Colts.

Teams on the decline....
  1. Houston Texans...Just have a feeling it's Bill O'Brien's last year
  2. Pittsburgh Steelers...Here's hoping they don't make post season again.
  3. San Francisco 49ers....House cleaning as I stand with my fellow Veteran brother @LoyalRam

49'ers Nick Bosa left the field yesterday grabbing his thigh, Shanny fears another pulled hammy.

Rise-Raiders. Its not like you're gonna fall when you were at the bottom. So rising is expected.

Fall-Browns. Yeah, I know they're this year's media darlings. The trendy pick. But "Dude, its the Browns".

It's in the Bosa's DNA, they can rush the passer, but they are injury prone.

AFC- I think the chargers rise at the expense of the chiefs. Chargers had so many injuries last year and still almost made it to the super bowl. If they stay healthy (which is big if for some of their stars) they could be the threat in afc. Chiefs are one spouse beating away from a team discount on wife beater T-shirt’s at Walmart. Their season could crumble before it begins.

NFC- man, I don’t even want to type this but I think the Cowgirls might be a threat this season if their oline stays healthy and if the Ewok can keep himself from being arrested again. The skins and giants are a dumpster fire and the eagles don’t have Foles to save their season this year so might be easy cruising for them. As far as fallers, curious to see how Bears are without Fangio at defense cord. They’ll still be good but the Lions will be improved and the Vikings are still a threat. Not sure they make it to 10 wins this year as I’m not a huge believer in Trubisky yet.

Falcon rise. Too much talent to finish below .500

Seahawks fall. They lose Clark and Baldwin and sign Ansah. They got worse.
